not only did it not work for me, but it COMPLETELY pussified the Predators to me. I mean, that Predator got killed pretty damn easy there, compared to the original Predator who killed everything in it's path except for Arnold who had to battle for thirty minutes before he finally killed him.

Yep, first predator almost took out a whole team who worked together for years, who were better prepared, on their own turf, and better equipped. All that and Arnold still got his ass kicked and almost blown the frack up. When the predator slave has a harder time killing another predator then some dude with a sword there is something really wrong with that picture[/quote]

All that goes out the window when he tries to talk like a bad ass by impersonating Christian Bale, carries a big gun, and giant knife, doesn't give a crap about anyone until the last 20 minutes, and does the shirt off muscle scene. All signs of a writer trying to make a bad ass and an actor trying to "act" like a bad ass.

That is just it it wasn't the same predator story. The first one was a survival story(just like the first half of this sequel) then it turned into a save the girl and ******** twist story the last half.
to each his own... I thought he took the shirt off to mud on his body not to look all cool... Again, to each his own. I took the movie completely differently then you did. I didn't have a problem with him trying to save the IDF chick (She deserved saving )!

I think Ive grown up. Loved the first predator. This one was a good waste of a couple hours I had to kill anyhow. It straddled the line between legit action/Sci-fi and high camp a little too much. You either need to go one way or the other. Rodriguez "gets" the whole grind house/camp style of filmmaking. Its almost like he was trying to make fun of the genre a bit, but didnt commit to it like say a "Tropic Thunder" did.

The first was much better at tension building, but thats probably just because it was a new idea at the time. If RR was going to make it appear as though the predators had evolved or at least advanced since 1987, he should have taken full license and found a new way to scare us with them. This was just the same POV shots, language learning, ripply cloaking devices and clicky breathing. Probably awesome for true fans of the series. But for a random passerby like myself, or true cinema fans, I think it was off the mark.

Yeah, I'd say I liked the first half. I thought it went downhill when Fishburne's character appeared. I thought it would be better.

6/10

You can say that again. If I had wanted to re-watch Pandorum I would have put it in. Still, I enjoyed the movie despite Fishburne's character.
