Every year there is a pre-season phenom for Cards fans to get all excited about. Then they start playing for real and the player shows he's a fringe player, or shouldn't be in the NFL.
IIRC, Alphonso Smith led the NFL in rushing during last year's pre-season. Then there was the WR, his name escapes me, who looked good every camp and couldn't catch a ball when it mattered.
Ryan Williams enjoyed legendary status yet never did a thing in a real NFL game.
My pick for this year is Logan Thomas. I think he may come in play well against street free agents in the 3rd and 4th quarters and people will start thinking he's the real deal.
Alternate pick is Stepfan Taylor. I don't think he's much of an NFL back but think he may put up some numbers this pre-season.
