He wasn't available to anyone, but San Francisco. The trade was initiated btly the Pats. Even Cleveland offered at least a first and we're turned down. BB hand picked the team for Jimmy G.

I put the odds at 70% he returns. Think Keim and Mike sell him on getting his stats, getting key players healthy, and patching up holes. Plus, Fitz likes money.

I think they also play upon his loyalty...we will more than likely have a young QB, we have no WR's he can trust and even if we draft one it will take time and mentorship for him to grow into the NFL game, we need you for another year Larry

Totally Out of Left Field prediction:

Cards trade David Johnson for a high, draft pick.

They use the pick to draft Barkley RB from Penn State

Fitz returns to mentor Barkley (who,is said to have a Fitz personality)

And, oh yeah, we draft our QBOF at #15.
No way

He says the only thing that drives him is A RING

There’s no way he returns to a banged up team with no HC, no qb, no o line and likely to be last in the division.

:hacker:

Yeah... and you were probably part of the brigade in the past who said that they should trade him or that he wouldn't re-sign, blah, blah.

And, before you bury the Cards in "18, you may want to check out what is actually happening in Seattle.

He's also big into NFL history and I don't think he wants to step away from the game when there is a chance to go out and play another strong year and solidify his place in NFL history (by passing T.O.).

Chances are we will bring in a veteran QB to bridge the gap before handing the team over to a rookie QB. Plus, we have cap space to make other moves. This could still be a competitive team next year.

So conflicting. My favorite athlete of all time. Cant imagine seeing him wear any other uniform or not being on the field for the Cards,,,, but the thought of Larry coming back to a rebuilding team with no QB kindof makes me sad. Hopefully we can make the moves to be competitive and not have it be a totally wasted year.
He was offering high praise to Drew Stanton. I think they need to resign him if for no other reason that in a pinch Larry trusts him. I can’t see him coming back to an unknown.

Fitz loves the game, the history which includes records, and really does want to only play for the Cardinals. Great chance he comes back. No, he might not ever be able to catch the records of Rice but he can catch number two in a lot of categories and it's not just about catching them... he is playing still at a high level, in shape like Rice was and it's also about passing guys and setting a buffer where he cannot get caught as easily by those chasing him

It would be asinine if he never makes the hall though.
Yeah he totally should be a HoF guy but he shouldn't be second, Larry should be second, for as long as possible. Maybe for the next decades to come.

Fitz could play 3-5 more years if he wanted.

He can afford to wait year by year at this point. So he'll look at what we do and decide.

I’ll be shocked as hell if Fitz returns!

In the interviews after the Hawks game & BA telling the team he was done, #11 looked like a beaten man & down as I’ve ever seen him.

You mean coming from the same guy who emphatically all year said Jimmy G wouldnt be traded?

Until I hear from Fitz’s Own mouth or statement he’s coming back I’m very skeptical he’s coming back.
