Just a hunch. I have had this feeling for a long time and feel the Rams are not going to draft Bradford #1. They will surprise everyone and draft either DT's Suh or McCoy. I think Bradford's shoulder inuries give them pause to spend an estimated $50 million on.

With Carikier being traded might also play into this scenario.

They aren't drafting McCoy at #1 overall. No way no how.

If Cleveland wants Bradford, the Rams would be wise to trade down and then could still pick up either Clausen or McCoy plus many extra picks, which is what the Rams really need for rebuilding.

Bradford to go #1, but maybe not ultimately to Rams

My best educated guess: If the Rams don't want Bradford, they'll go the Eli Manning/Phillip Rivers route and still draft Bradford with their #1 pick.

In this way - if they have a potential trading partner a few picks later (like Seattle at #6, Cleveland at #7 or Denver at #11) but still want to get the guy(s) they've targeted (or, if those guys are gone, keep Bradford) - they can remain in control of the situation.

The danger in trading the top pick is that guys like Suh or McCoy will be gone before the #6 pick or later. At least this way - should that happen - their consolation prize would be Bradford.

Your comments make a lot of sense.

The Lions would be happy campers, as they could trade down.

Great point Jeff. I hadn't thought of that.

RAMS should draft Suh, but they'll take Bradford #1 if they can't trade out of the top spot for a mega deal from Cleveland.

Our roster isn't ready for a franchise QB. We have needs everywhere.
Starting RB,C and MLB are solid, our defense is not as bad as everybody thinks it is...but its still BAD.

Our offense is putrid. The Oline was supposed to be fixed last season. It was addressed & improved somewhat, but not fixed.

Our WR's are all young guys,a few of them have some potential(Laurent Robinson,Donnie Avery,Brandon Gibson),Danny Amendola was a nice surprise but he'll be a returner and S.T. guy.

Steven Jackson was Gandhi with muscle....

I realize our current QB core is a joke.......AJ Feeley,Keith Null(who?) and Mike Reilly(ultra who?) WHICH MEANS WE'RE DRAFTING SAMMY BRADFORD!!
but GM Billy Devaney and HC Steve Spagnuolo's original battle cry was for going bare bones, rebuilding the O & D Lines, and rebuilding this team from the inside out.

I guess only winning one game last year speeds up that process;).

Oh and good luck AZ Cards on your 2010 NFL Draft.
Pssstt...draft defense.

Maybe your FO will notice how well drafting Mario Williams instead of Vince Young has worked out for the Texans.

Bradford's durability issues would keep me from drafting him #1. Too much money to risk.

Suh & Colt wouldn't be a bad consolation prize. But hoping no one trades up for Colt is a gamble.
