I was going to say Niners blow us out, but after bigredjane's neon sign, I say:

Card -35
Niners - 24

I want to believe.

I'm really, really bad at predicting games, but, I will say that I think our offensive line will turn in its best performance of the year today.

I also think we will run the ball strongly, and Marcell will have 100+ yards on the ground.

Our d-line is getting healthier, but I'm not sure that we will have a good performance defensively today. Our run defense should be OK, but I worry about the San Fran passing game.

If we had a healthy wide receiver corp, I might be more inclined to pick the cards.

As it is, I still think we have a chance in this one. If we don't turn it over, and move the chains like we did in the first three weeks, then we can stay in any game. I will say that we will be +1 in the turnover dept. today, and run the ball with authority. I predict a win.

Neeners 20

Simeon's sleight of hand is now catching up with him. He's baaaack to his old ways...so intent on sacks that he's leaving huge gaps for the opponents to run at.

The Cards show that although Hurst and Barlow are good, they won't run on us as efficiently as they did on Tampa.

....and yes....yards per carry is about as meaningful a statistic as any.....regardless of what some may claim.

...and yes...teams have been running the ball a lot on the Cards, but it as a couple of us has stated, part of that is due to the other team's playing from the lead, wanting to shorten the game clock as much as possible, and preferring to cut down on turnover possibilities by staying more to the running game. Few teams are so strong at running back that they can continue to run even when playing from behind.....Baltimore, Miami, and Baltimore come to mind....but most "intelligent coaches" prefer to stay with the run when the score is in their favor. ANY passing game increases the likelyhood of turnovers.

Jamal Lewis ran for nearly 100 yards in the FIRST HALF against us. Our run defense is NOT good. Still, I'll be hoping, praying and pleading that they do just enough, both against the run and *yikes!* against the pass to keep us in this game. Our offense will have to be lights-out to win this one.

I watched that game, and it looked to me that the Bucs' defensive tackles were getting blown off of the ball. Many of the Niners' good runs were right up the gut (Sapps big gut that is).

Regarding the Cards, I don't think they can consistently stop either the passing or running game. They don't have the horses up front to put pressure on opposing QB's or occupy more than one lineman to free up their linebackers to rush the passer or stop the run.

Owens drops three passes, still has a 120 yards and a td and Hearst and Barlow go nuts on us. Our 5th round pick is not the savior everyone hopes he will be and is shown to be nothing more than a guy that looks good against our offensive linemen and Glass Gilmore goes out in the first quarter after dropping a sure touchdown pass and complaining that his moogage hurts.

Another big fat L - 27-14. Might as well give Mac Tobin's old clipboard to hold to his chest so he doesn't feel naked to the world as another sub-par coach mentally undresses his coaching. Bring on the Bengals!!!!!!!!!!

I want to eat a little crow. I did not think we had a chance. this crow taste great!

I think teh Cards keep it close and we win in OT 16-13.Shipp has a monster game and both kickers will struggle.Just a hunch, though.

I picked the game right, just not the score. It sure was nice to see the Cards win. I think Mac should go for two in a row!

I picked the Cards to win too but I feel more lucky than anything resembling Nostradamus.

Unlike evidently a lot of people who post here, I don't go bipolar with each win or loss on a weekly basis. I have liked the general direction this team has been headed for quite some time now.

Sure there are frustrations along the way, here and there, ....but that's inevitable to me....with any team. I choose to try and understand what's actually going on with the team rather than just constantly focusing on each and every little "perceived" ignorance by the people in the Cards organization, whether it be players, manangement, or "regular" employees.

Let's see . . . isn't Miami the only NFL team that ever made it through 1 season without a loss?
Even the greatest teams lose sometimes. Losses ARE disappointing. If I really felt that everyone in this organization was as ignorant as some of the people here claim, and things were as hopeless as they insist on trying to convince themselves and others that they are.... then I'd find a different venue to occupy my time.

I don't "enjoy" losses. I certainly don't accept failure.
but I do enjoy being a fan of this team. I will continue to believe that the people in the Cards organization ARE intelligent and knowledgeable adults, and are honestly making decent efforts at improving it.

I like the people who are "the Cards", and see no reason to not have a little faith in their ultimate success.

Why is that so hard for some of you to comprehend?

I don't think that any of what you said above is hard to comprehend - I just happen to disagree with most of it.

Wow - look at that - a relatively civil exchange.

I think it is hard to understand your belief that the cards are headed towards success, because they have at no point ever been near it. I love the team to death, but I think it to be rather myopic to look at the Cardinals as moving towards any ultimate success. Certainly there have been baby steps of progress, but we're talking very minute gains. I would be interested to see your evaluation of why you believe that ultimate success is imminent, sans childish insults or jabs, por favor.
