I wouldn't move out of the position to draft an elite talent unless some team made a truly dynamite offer.
Still pissy about Suggs. I wouldn't move down from 8 to 15 for some 3rd rounder. It's need to be a high 2nd.

Gotta know that by making that move, you'd guarantee you don't get any of the top 4 OT's, probably any of the top 3 WR's, and none of the top 4 defenders. You better make a hell of a hit on your later 1st and then 2nd round pick to make up for it. You'd be getting someone like Josh Jones or Grant Delpit or or K'Lavon Chaisson. Cool with that? Or do you open up that can and smell Calvin Pace?

Adding Hopkins, Kennard, Phillips, and Campbell and getting back Gilbert has given us the ability to finally play it cool and take whatever talent falls into our lap, and several will.

I think we all agree that we shouldn't trade down if an impact player like Suggs is there at #8. I would be pissed as well.

First question is who is that player (Suggs)? I would imagine its Simmons. Could be Okudah, maybe Brown but I doubt it.

This is a unique draft in that the top 4 OT's, Top 3 WR, and some of the defenders (Brown, Kinlaw, etc) are grouped tightly. No consensus #1 (except Brown over Kinlaw).

IMO, that means we will have some options to get one of the top 4 OT, 3 WR, defenders, or someone we like better at about the 15th/16th pick.

I can only remember 2 times that I have been in favor of trading down.

2019 - trying to stick it to the 49ers for Bosa. They trade up to #1 and take Bosa and we still get Murray (like we did with Chargers/Ryan Leaf/Andre Wadsworth).

And 2007 below (Kent Somers rumor was the Cardinals were going to trade down).

Notice I didn't say anything about Adrian Peterson though. :)

Trading down with Joe Thomas on the board would be the exact duplicate of passing on Suggs for two scrubs.

If Thomas is gone, I can't fault them at all.

If they do trade down, I think they should take Patrick Willis.

From Bruce Feldman - Athletic

Working off of my colleague Dane Brugler’s mock draft 5.0, here are 10 guys who I see as potentially big bargain picks.

Utah LB Francis Bernard, higher than No. 142

Cal safety Ashtyn Davis, higher than No. 71

Michigan State edge rusher Kenny Willikes, higher than No. 152

Texas Tech LB Jordyn Brooks, higher than No. 74

Texas WR Devin Duvernay, higher than No. 117

UCLA CB Darnay Holmes, higher than No. 143

West Virginia OT Colton McKivitz, higher than No. 233

Ohio State WR K.J. Hill, higher than No. 100

Oregon State QB Jake Luton, higher than No. 204

Maryland RB Anthony McFarland, higher than No. 174

Keep seeing Kenny Wilikes on underrated lists...he looked good at Senior Bowl.

If you are looking just at college stats (same conference)...he was right there with Espenesa (double the solo tackles) and tested out better athletically (combine). Huge difference in bench...32 vs 17 for Espenesa.

Jordyn Brooks (KK) and Duvernay (K1) also have connections to the Cardinals.

Don't forget about this story from last year (other people on this board have mentioned the possibility this year).

It would cost the Patriots much less to trade for Rosen vs trade-up in 1st round.

NFL rumors: Patriots among teams 'very interested' in Josh Rosen trade
By Nick Goss March 27, 2019 1:47 PM
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen could be on the move before the 2019 NFL season, and one of the teams reportedly "very interested" in acquiring him via trade is the New England Patriots.

FOX Sports 1's Joel Klatt dropped this news during Wednesday's episode of "Undisputed." Check out what he had to say in the video below.

"There are 3 teams that I have heard and I know are very interested in Josh Rosen: New England, the New York Giants, and the LA Chargers. One of those have already offered a 2nd-round pick. ... Arizona is waiting for a 1st — I don't think they'll get it." — @joelklatt

Kenny Wilikes is also over a full year older.

That's a factor many dont look at when evaluating young football players. Younger generally means he has more growth in him physically and football maturity wise.

Yeah...Espenesa (July) will be 22 and Willikes (September) will be 23 to start the season.

Unless you can get a 2nd round pick back (where we selected him) or a starting player...no thank you.

If they traded him (I cant see for more than a 3rd)...

They either are really taking a WR at 8 or they plan on trading down/acquiring a 2nd round pick and plan to select a WR there.

Trading Kirk would make absolutely no sense at all.
He's a high quality player and person, he knows the system, he's your second best receiver currently, he's on his rookie contract, and you
couldn't get enough for him.
Taking Lamb would be a lateral move and would cost you a chance to take a valuable piece instead of just replacing an existing one.

I'd rather have Kirk and Derrick Brown or Jedrick Wills, than Lamb and some third rounder. I would have added nothing to my team of consequence in return for my first round pick.

If you love Lamb that much just pick him. You don't have to dump Kirk, you'll need him. Someone will get hurt. Fitz may retire. Hopkins may sign a new deal then hold out again next year.

If they are enamored with Lamb then it kind of makes sense I guess. Maybe it’s just some additional smoke so someone jumps up to draft a WR and leaves another player for us.

Lots of conflicting Giants rumors (Wills, Becton, Simmons all in play).

I've gotta question - does this year's format and lack of personal visits increase the likelihood o last-minute disinformation about players, medical issues, misbehavior etc.?
