McBride is the best player on Fulham FC and he finishes. He's a great player. Not too sure why you don't like him.
I think he is odd looking. :) And I don't recall him finishing on the men's national team. Mostly he is weird looking. But what do I know?

OK I just watched Green Street Hooligans.

I have decided when they are on TV I will cheer on the following teams in this order

1) West Ham (hope Tevarez (sp) stays)
2) Chelsea
3) Sunderland (since you guys like them)

Eventually one will grow on me more than the others as I am always a one team per sport fan.

Whoa there, cowboy. I don't like Sunderland. Newcastle United all the way. I don't hate Sunderland, per se, because they aren't a threat. Sorry, blokes...just the truth :)

You should start a Newcastle thread. I might be convinced to switch allegiances.

I would, but nobody would care...English has the Cards fans brainwashed for Sunderland.

Weird, too, because Sunderland has about a million percent LESS of a chance to do as much as the Cards.

I remember a year and a half ago or so I was offered a job in England in the small beautiful little town 20 min from london. If I had been single or if we werent about to have kids I would have taken it.

Is 52 thousand pounds a reasonable wage there? Or would I have been living in the slums?

52 is a good wage as the higher tax (40%) is a 60k (although if you were single it might be a little tighter than if your worried married etc) but you could get a nice flat or house for that and the further away form London you get the more you get for you money.

in centel london you might have to pay £500 per week for a decent appartment but about 30 miles away £1000 per month should find you some where nice.

where i live (north east England - near the mouth of the tyne river) you can get a 1 bed flat here for £550 per month with river views etc.

London is expensive is what i'm saying. What i can equate to is that a first year traniee solicitor in a top firm up here (my firm starts you on about £28000) where as in London you would expect to start on maybe £40000 just due to the cost of living.

what line of work by the way?

I'm just praying that my team, Leeds, are even allowed to start the bloody season. 8 days to go and no final word yet.

I'll be following the Prem as always. My advice to anyone wanting to pick a team would be Arsenal. I'm not a fan of any of the north-east teams.

Another American goes the Premier League - Eddie Lewis is joining Feilhaber at Derby.

Derby made an offer for Eddie Johnson a month ago too, it seems they might think they can get a bargain from the "yanks" that may even save them from getting relegated.

I'm really hoping Feilhaber gets regular playing time, I don't care about Lewis so much, his days with the National team are over.

I know what you're saying about Lewis. I'm not that interested because he's not part of the USMNT, but maybe it bodes well for Derby. You could argue that the best three Americans in the PL are Friedel, Hahnemann, and McBride: players that are retired/don't ever play for the national team.

Dempsey scored again today and help set up 2 other goals as Fulham came back and tied Tottenham 3-3. Pretty good game, a little sloppy but entertaining.

Three points for the good old Magpies. Looks like we're going to hang around near the top, boys, especially if we start getting guys back from injury. We're near the top of the table, haven't lost a game, and are still playing a M*A*S*H unit lineup. Huzzah!
