Prep Roundup: Decatur Heritage picks up big win ahead of playoffs

Apr. 15—Just days ahead of the first round of the baseball playoffs, Decatur Heritage added to its win total with a 14-4 victory over Randolph.

Olsen Howard led the way with two hits, including a home run, and five RBIs. Harrison Hardy added two hits and an RBI, while Dylan Germany had a hit and two RBIs.

Decatur Heritage will host Cedar Bluff on Friday in the first round of the Class 2A state playoffs.

East Limestone 11, Austin 10: East Limestone scored six runs in the final inning to snag a win over Austin on Monday.

Tyler Kelley led the way with two hits and two RBIs, while Leyton Coffman added two hits and an RBi.

Bryant Jones led Austin with three hits and an RBI, Riley Grigg had a three-RBI double and Jaxon Potter hit a solo home run.

Athens 12, Lawrence County 4: Hudson Marks totaled three hits and three RBIs to lead Athens to a win.

Ashton Dickey had three hits and two RBIs, while Parker Frost led Lawrence County with two hits and an RBI.

Athens Bible 17, Falkville 15: Despite being outhit 11-6, Athens Bible managed to edge Falkville on Monday.

Gavin Butler had two hits and an RBI for the Trojans, while Ryan Faust had a hit and two RBIs. Grayson Nayman added three RBIs.

Bryant Owens had a grand slam for Falkville, while Reed Dillard added three hits and three RBIs.
