1. If Fitz is there. The Cards take him. At worst he becomes a solid possession WR at best a Cris Carter clone.

2. If Fitz is gone and M Williams is there the Cards take him. At worst this guy will be an average NFL WR (I think his bust potential is higher then Fitz) at best te guy becomes a Terrel Owens clone (playing wise).

3. If Fitz and M Williams are gone. DG takes the only difference maker left. S Taylor. At worst he becomes an average S at best a pro-bowl S.
(I wonder can he play CB?).

4. This means teams that want Manning or Gallery or Ben might want to give us something for the number 3 spot.

But there will be no trade down unless DG gets a difference maker in the trade. And no one will trade away a difference maker will they?

Ogunlye would be one but I don't think MIA wants the #3 anyway. PIT's Randle El is good but is he a difference maker? Gildon, what else can they offer? Northcutt is not a difference maker, neither is Couch or W Green.

I really don't think DG gives up a difference maker at #3.

5. If they take Taylor. DG then might need to take a WR or RB at #33. Will he reach? DG wanted a difference maker at WR or RB. If he takes Taylor where will he get that difference maker from? Maybe from a trade, a late cut. Taking Taylor upgrades the defense but what about the offense? :(

6. Now watch DG take Eli or Ben. ;)

No, really. I'm asking.
There ain't never been a WR like Randy Moss. He is a 1 of a kind player.

Boldin strikes me as more of a Jerry Rice type. How was his YAC?
Fitz seems more like CC. Who knows once I start watching them in action I will get a better feel. CC caught a lot of TD so did Fitz.

These are just rough comparisons.

Williams is more like Moss.

Fitz is more like Boldin.

We should take Williams if he is there.

If not I'd like it if we just took Taylor and picked the Wr that drops to the first pick in the 2nd round.

Screw the QB's too much investment no guarantee on return.

How many Super Bowls have Archie or Peyton Manning played in again?

Screw the hype. We need solid players at each position instead of Super Stars at one or two. Kills the cap and the signing bonus for a QB will kill us especially for a kid sitting on the bench.

If we pick a Qb he will be a long ass hold out.

I agree your scenario is most likely.

But the only thing I'm "pretty sure" about concerning the draft is that I'm not pretty sure about anything.

If fitz is more like boldin, than whats the point of taking him? Isn't the key having one burner style receiver to go deep, pulling safteys ect making room for your possession receiver to be wide open across the middle?

Bryant Johnson is the "burner WR /deep threat". He's the one with the 4.4 speed. Fitz is a "possession" WR and Boldin the "flanker/slot receiver......the one who gets the YAC's

vikesfan, your draft scenario is utter bunkum.

We will draft a QB or Wilfork at the #3 spot and a CB with the 33, a WR in round 3.:self:

Not bad, Skkorp...I can dig Manning or Rothlisdingy, then Poole, Robinson, or whoever slips into the second...not sure what all WRs will fall to the 3rd, but perhaps that other Texas receiver? Not Roy, but the other one? Hmm, interesting...though I'd rather have one of the two rising DTs.

Well since I own this board I don't think you should be saying stuff like that about my scenarios ;)

I did include #6 there cause like Jeff says you never know. I still cannot believe the Vikes passed on Suggs and Trufant to take another UT.

Skkorp if they do take a QB it won't be Rivers though now if Rivers falls to #33 you might have shot at him. I doubt it though even if he is there at #33.

I like Wilfork. I just don't think he can generate enough heat on the passer to justify a #3 pick.

Now if the Cards had 2 top 10 picks one of them I would use on him. And with the other one I would take Fitz/M Williams if there or Taylor or Gallery.

Wilfork DOES NOT, under any circumstances, go #3 overall. Not going to happen. If Larry Fitzgerald is available at #3, the Cardinals WILL take him. If he's not, then maybe a QB, but not Wilfork.

Rivers will not fall to round 2 and some teams have him ranked ahead of Ben.

What about the possibility of Kevin Jones falling to out 2nd pick. He had a terrible workout and has been falling down the board. Now I dont think he will be there for our 2nd pick, but if he was, I think he would be too good to pass up.

I just keep thinking about Clinton Portis when I think about Jones. Portis breaks more tackles then Jones, but I dunno how you pass on him if hes there.

I'd most certainly take Kevin Jones with our 2nd rounder, though we may be able to turn our #2 into next year's #1 from someone who just has to have him.

If Kevin Jones is there when we pick in round two; we take him. He is first round talent.

I would freak out and break my tv if the Cards draft Wilfork.

I hope we take Ben at QB first. If we take Wilfork I hope we trade down to do it. I am very high on him, but I would also love to get another second rounder if we could for trading down. I agree at 33 it will most likely be a CB. There also will be some good receivers still there at the top of the third round so your scenario does make sense.

I am down on Kevin Jones. 4.6 vs 4.4. is a big difference for a SPEED BACK!

I would rather take a flyer on a legit speed back in round 3 and take a potential stud at OL DT or CB there.

Maybe you should watch the draft at someone else's house so you don't break your own tv.

I dont care what Kevin jones ran in his first personal workout. He is a speed back and I gurantee you during his next workout he runs around the 4.45 range.

I just hope its too late for team to bump him up the draft board. What time will teams believe?

I think we need more than we would like to think. If Fitz becomes a Cardinal I will not be sad, however, if we were to trade down to #7 and take a Roy Williams and get an additional 2nd round pick(#37), we could then take a cb and dt, or a dt and rb, or a cb and de. We would be very flexible.
I'm begining to freak out about our rb situation. Emmitt Smith is no more than a relief or situational back. Anderson is coming off serious injury. I love Marcel, but if he gets hurt we could very well be screwed.

I agree. I was overlooking the RB situation. I know E Smith is old and was injured last year. Shipp has been injured too. There is no real 3rd RB after them is there. I know one backup lost his spleen.

So many holes :(

I think DG has take a RB round 2 or 3 now.
Thus the OLINE and DLINE will not get better as fast.

The War Room Compares Fitz to Owens, Mike Williams to Moss & Roy Williams to Moulds.....
