Disclaimor: I didn't see this posted already, but if it has feel free to delete.

Mike Sando recently updated the Pro Bowl balloting and it looks like the results could be more of a joke than usual. If the balloting were to end today, KW wouldn't even make the PB. He's behind Brees, Eli and Jason freaking Campbell. Fitz and Q are both in the top three at WR and Adrian Wilson is second at strong safety (he's behind Chris Horton WAS). Those are the only Cardinals who are in the top five at their positions. Dockett, Dansby and Morey are no where to be found.

Here's the link to vote, let's get some more Cardinals to Hawaii.

It should be changed...

Let the fans vote, but discount that portion of the voting significantly. The only votes that matter are those of the other players and coaches.

That's pretty crazy, especially for a team that isn't having an amazing season. Is it possible that some how there's a computer system that's constantly voting? Some of the vote totals are just unbelievable. These are the guys who are leading their positions and the margin by which they're leading:

RB - Clinton Portis - 15K votes - how's he even beating Peterson
FB - Mike Selleers - 129K votes
OT - Chris Samuels - 95K
DT - Cornelius Griffin and Kendric Gholston - they're 1 and 2 by 47K and 24K over third
MLB - London Fletcher - 46K
SS - Chris Horton - 110K - over A-dub
FS - LaRon Landry - 105K
K - Shaun Suisham - 79K
ST - Khary Campbell - 73K

Possible and likely.

I really wish that the Pro Bowl went like it used to when the players would vote. Fan voting has gotten absurd.

If you vote on NFL.com, after you submit your ballot, it actually says "please vote again to ensure that your favorite player makes the pro-bowl"

I thought the players & coaches got to vote, and their votes were more heavily weighed. Also, regardless of votes, I would not stake any confidence in the NFL's voting system. I'm sure if the league wants someone to be in the pro bowl, they'll be in the pro bowl ;)

Ugh. Can they please take this weapon away from the hands of the fans?

I voted once and will only vote once. I like having a vote but this system will be manipulated to the point it will have to be changed.

Lets not forget that the coaches and players have a large say in how this truly ends up.

It used to be weighted 1/3 fans, 1/3 players vote, 1/3 coaches vote. I have no idea of that's still the case. But those totals are just nuts. Don't forget FedEx Field is the largest stadium in the NFL, if they hand out pre-punched ballots, that's a big head start right there.

Fan voting for the probowl is stupid.

So are the players' votes. They only see players from 12 teams because that's how many teams we play. And many of the players only have semi-valid opinions on players from one side of the ball, because offense players watch video of only their defense opponent and vice versa.

Very few players ever watch another NFL football game, preferring to get away from work stuff.

All of which is why I never participate in pro bowl voting, never will, and don't care who makes it.

I'm pretty sure only the starters are determined by the ballots, and the rest of the roster is selected by the coaches (and players?). Hopefully I'm right because Warner, Fitz and Boldin will all make it if that is the case.
