I have a feeling that 'los is going to go all Jefferson all over the Niners on Sunday. If I were in Vegas - I'd jump ALL over the Cards, the D may well pitch a shutout in frustration...

Los should not be pissed. It's more of a reflection on the Pro Bowl selection process than on his play. His Cardinals' MVP tells it all. We not only play in the very tough NFC West and have arguably the NFL's best defense, but no one knows how good we are, because we don't get attention from the media. I can't believe hearing so many media guys make statements like:
1.We know all 10-5 teams are not created equal.
2.Carson Palmer sucks (comment made a few days ago).
3.Arizona had to go all out to defeat Seattle, while Seattle just coasted. And even then Wilson might have pulled out the game if it weren't for a terrible call on that so called interception.
4.And back east we don't even get the Az-SF game at 4PM, as Fox chose GB-Chi, and we all know which game got flexed. I think that's called East, Midwest Preference, and it all trickles down to the Pro Bowl. JMO.

Carson Palmer doesn't "suck", but he's not very good. Throwing 4 INTs and still having your defense win the game for you doesn't make you good.

I don't blame FOX for making Green Bay-Chicago America's Game of the Week. Not only does it feature a number of the NFL's biggest stars, including Aaron Rodgers, but it's also an effective NFC North championship game. That takes precedence over a game that could be meaningless if New Orleans jumps out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter.

I don't know what's up with Los. It's a shame that (again) the Cards media people didn't bother promoting and campaigning for him. I have no idea what that is about.

Did the Cards media "promote and campaign" for anyone else? Or, are you suggesting that they already know Dansby won't be here next year and intentionally didn't push for him??

Yup. They fastidiously promoted and campaigned for Justin Bethel, for example. Last year, they made sure to put the bug in every announcer's ear about Daryl Washington. NFL media guys do this all the time.

I'd guess that they didn't promote Dansby (again) either (1) out of a habit of not promoting him and/or (2) because it's against their interest because he's a pending free agent. Or maybe the organization just doesn't "like" Dansby. I find this last possibility the least convincing.

Hmmm....I've been listening to PHX radio a lot recently and there has been plenty of promotion for dansby to not only be a pro bowler, but also as DPOY.

BTW--after Abraham getting ****ted on during free agency and on this MB only to make the Pro Bowl is almost poetic justice.

It's a joke Dansby didn't make it but as others have said, you can't really sit the LB's who made it ahead of him. The story of the Pro Bowl though is Vontaze Burfict.

That being said, I believe they did promote KD. They played every possible clip of him talking about being defensive player of the year, they wrote numerous articles about him and talked about him on the radio a ton. I don't know how much more promoting you can get. He certainly got more promotion than Fitz--which just goes to show it's a name recognition event rather than a true indication of the year a player had.

How in the hell did Dockett even make alternate? He had some good games but many games he was a non-factor.

I don't really expect local radio to move the needle on Pro Bowl voting, do you? Honestly? Or team internet?

There is a meaningful difference between "Dansby and Washington are one of the best ILB pairings in the NFL" and "Dansby is having an All-Pro Season" in national messaging--what the team media feeds up to NFLNetwork, NFL.com, and the network announcing team.

It's possible that no amount of stumping to the league would've made a difference for Los. I think, when it comes right down to it, the "blame" for Los being left out is:

1) The Cards not having a national/prime time game since Week 7, when Los didn't have a particular impact.

2) A very deep class of linebackers. Even if the voting had been "Conferenced", Los would have been behind Keuchly, Bowman, and Willis.

3) Lack of promotion from Hardy Drive, for any number of reasons.

4) Los might just not be particularly well-liked by coaches and players around the NFL. I don't think this is particularly likely, but it's possible.

Lets be honest.. With Deion picking who goes, you knew Peterson was a lock.. Not that he doesn't deserve it though..

Well that says enough there. Deion get some specs! :p

Who was the other one, Rice, right.

First and last time this is done.

I live in Texas and what I saw from their official site and their facebook, the organization focused a ton on Dansby. I think Dansby and the Cardinals got screwed

K9, I'm surprised at your take. To pick out the one poor game that CP had in the second half of the year and then to base your opinion on that game, means you're ready for the prime-time media. And then to say that FOX will be well served by showing a game which features two of the game's worst defenses and two QB's (one rusty and one very rusty) will ensure the type of touch football that the public want to see. That might be so, but Fox should at least warn its audience that if you would want to watch defense, you've come to the wrong channel. JMO.

you can't really quibble at all with the Bears/Packers game being broadcast nationally. That LITERALLY a playoff game. Whoever wins moves forward, whoever doesn't their season is over. Our game could be meaningless within a half. Not to mention the Bears-Packers is a storied rivalry, which is only secondary, but still something more then the what if scenarios that make our game interesting to a national audience.

now, if the Niners lost last week and this week's game was a play-in, win or die game for both teams, you'd have a much stronger argument. but it's not. thus, there's a chance it's just a good game with no playoff implications, as opposed to the Bears-Packers game which will be a high-scoring affair with two high profile QBs that will definitely have playoff implications. Any network with a brain goes with that game 100 out of 100 times.

That selection would have meant big $ for Dansby; hope management stays sharp and locks him up with a multi-year deal.

I do not care what Dansby is saying right now or how people argue to one side or the other, he got screwed based on his performance on the field and the fact that Washington was mentioned over him as an alternate (I believe that is right) is a load of horse crap. If one thinks differently, then they sure the hell have not been watching the same games as me :)
