OK it's Pro Days Time. Put any relevant information about Teams and Individual Pro Days results.

Here's something from Alabama's Pro Day yesterday from NFL.com:

Alabama Pro Day...All 32 NFL teams were represented at their pro day including Packers GM Ted Thompson and Panthers GM Marty Hurney...Center Antoine Caldwell, 6-3, 310 pounds, stood on most of his numbers from the combine, but looked exceptional in the positional drills....QB John Parker Wilson 6-1.6, 215 pounds also kept his workout drill numbers from the combine, but showed great arm strength and touch in his positional workout...for previous updates scroll down.

After not being able to participate in the Senior Bowl and the Combine, Alabama Offensive Guard Marlon Davis 6-2.3, 299 pounds, registered 24 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, ran the 40-yard dash in 5.17 seconds and recorded a 7.81 second 3-cone drill...The New York Jets and New York Giants have already scheduled private workouts with Davis for next week, and the Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars and St. Louis Rams have expressed interest.

Chris Wells ran sub 4.4 at his pro day today..

there goes any shot of him being there at 31... OSU has a fast track, but his teammates all ran slow.. and he apparently ran a 4.38 and 4.39

Typical overblown OSU 40 times. Add .15 seconds to each players time and you will have an accurate time that is better compared to combine electronic times.

If your 40 doesnt come from the combine I dont trust it, thats my motto from here on out.

I think he's a 4.5 guy.. I think the Indy track was pretty slow and the OSU track is very fast (although poor Malcolmm Jenkins couldnt take advantage of it).

These forty times are so insignificant though. Wells has fantastic game speed for a back his size, who also displays power running skills.

Truth. The most meaningless numbers in the draft evaluation every single year are the 40 times at OSU.

I agree he is still plenty fast.

Not always. Chris Johnson shot up the draft charts last year after a 4.24 40. He was was known but I don't think most thought of him as a 1st round pick but the Titans took him at #24. It ended up being a great pick and Johnson made the pro bowl.

Johnson went to East Carolina. He was taking about 40 times posted at some Universitys Pro Days. Particularly Ohio States.

Beanie's 40

Supposedly he had a monster workout. They are reporting that he ran a 4.38 and 4.39 40 . Bye bye to being there at 31 .

Wells was never going to be there at #31 guys. He's more talented than Brown or Moreno, the only question about him is his durability. He can pound it inbetween the tackles, and break a run for 80 yards easily. Watch the tape, don't listen to the combine #s.

Wells
Moreno
Brown

is how they will come off the board.

Agree except McCoy could move up to #3 or even #2 if he has a great time on his 40 at his pro day workout next Tuesday March 17th. He never ran at the Combine because he was coming off the flu. Bottom line is his time will have a big impact on where he will be picked.

NFL | Wells fast at Pro Day
Fri, 13 Mar 2009 15:56:30 -0700

Doug Lesmerises, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Ohio State RB Chris Wells unofficially ran between 4.34 seconds and 4.46 seconds in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day.

3 things that his 40 time will not fix on tape.

1. He will fumble once a game if he carries the ball the way he does now away from his body and does not know how to switch the ball into the correct arm depending on which way he is running. You would think after playing college ball for 2 years this would be a habit by now.

2. Dances a lot.

3. Takes the cut back lanes most of the time, that wont work against the speed of the NFL. Looks for the 20 yarder even though the 10 yarder is showing, then ends up with a 5 yard gain instead. He needs to take a lesson from Chris Johnson and his speed and that lesson is just run.

But his speed, agility, elusivness, recieving ability, and ability to make something out of nothing is very intriguing.

We just don't know what his real speed is until his 40 time. But we all know that the other attributes that you mention (i.e. agility, elusiveness, etc.) are also very important as there have been some outstanding backs that don't have "sprinter" speed.

Dont think 40 time is real speed though. Its a fake and a facade. Ten different scouts can time him and have times ranging from 4.3 all the way to 4.5. Happens at every pro day.

We already know the guy is fast dont need a 40 tie for that.

at the OSU pro day, they take the time from every stopwatch and average them, which is where the official times come from.

Also, for people saying OSU has a fast track (which it does), Beanie was the only one who wasn't right around his time from the combine.
