GREEN LIKES TURDINALS OVER RAIDERS

With an offer in hand to take over the Arizona Cardinals, we're hearing that Denny Green prefers the situation in 'Zona to the possible offer he'll receive from Al Davis to resurrect the suddenly hapless Raiders.

Word is that Davis is reluctant to give Green control over personnel moves. The biggest stumbling block in this regard is that Green wants to dump 2002 league MVP Rich Gannon, and Davis wants to keep him.

Green ran Gannon out of Minnesota after one season together, during which Gannon was benched in favor of journeyman (at best) Sean "Please Don't Show Any More Pictures of Me When I Used To Thin" Salisbury.

I suppose most of the football world will be shocked that green chose the cardinals over the raiders....I think the raiders have about the top win loss % since the NFL and AFL merged (if not # 1..close to it)...but Davis is a nutcase. I think the cardinals would almost welcome a coach who came in here and said: this guy sucks...send him packing. Mac pretty much seemed to want to keep everyone because he liked them all personally..

By the way...how many veterans, uninjured, under contract players, have we cut since Mac became coach? Maybe chris greissen had a year or two left...my memory fails me on this one - there has to be others...Wadsworth had a year left I think (if mac was the coach when we cut him)..but wadsworth was too injured to go on...Of guys who did not have any injury issues and where under contract - I wonder how many mac cut? Not many...it has to be some sort of record or something...pretty much everyone who left was not under contract and left during the offseason...but I may be missing some guys.
