According to Urban, reiterating what Whis said: Cards will probably forgo trading for a QB in favor of going the FA route.

Logically, it would be Boyd (because he knows the system and can beat you with his legs), but I seem to vaguely recall he was picked up by another team.

To answer the question about promoting someone from the Practice Squad - that would be Lang Campbell, and it's unlikely the coaches feel he's ready to fit the "job description" for a backup QB (namely, he can come in and give us a shot at winning).

Despite Maddox's Steeler creds, I hope it's not him.

Welcome back JHolt from your (logical) preoccupation with the Cubbies.

Jeff:

During his "Red Zone" segment with Mike Jurecki and Dale Hellestrae this AM, Whisenhunt said specifically that the Cards would be bringing in a veteran QB who can "manage the game" if needed, not a PS or developmental player. No names were mentioned, but I believe Whis made reference to a short list of candidates already identified by the coaches and FO.

trade

Pittman is out for probably 6-8 weeks. TB needs RBs. Both Luke McCown and Gradowski had excellent pre-season. Luke is ready and would be a good fit with Warner. I've observed Luke and he's better than Josh. Trade JJ (possibly Shipp) for Luke.

Also, bring back Roger "the Rabbit" Robinson.

I guessing it will be Shane Boyd.

He's comes from Whiz's system.

Not saying what should or shouldn't be, just guessing.

Except... He also SUCKS, I would rather rely on Q
