Lost in the Cardinals' loss to the Redskins was the stellar play of Darnell Dockett. The third-year pro has taken his game to Pro Bowl level this season and is proving to be one of the best defensive tackles in the game. His six sacks led all defensive tackles entering the game, but his ability to disrupt the run also should earn him earn Pro Bowl honors. Using outstanding off the ball quickness and brute strength, Dockett spent the majority of his time in Washington's backfield despite facing some double teams.

I admitted this before. I owe the guy an apology since I have been ripping him for a LOOOOONG time.

His play has not only improved, it is infectious, and motivating. He has become a leader on defense when just his actions.

Why would you owe him an apology? when you were ripping him, he sucked.

dude's been an absolute BEAST! If he could control himself just a little more and eliminate the inevitable penalty a game, he'd be all world. I think he can do it - he just needs to learn how to play with fire. That comes with age.

He has been the best player on our defense this year, and it is not even close. In fact, I might say that he has been our best all around player.

Still think the best player is Watson. Dockett credits the beast for his success. I think the command that Watson brings in the middle has made Dockett the player we all thought he should be, the player we all thought Pace would never be, the transition to the 3-4 easier then we all originally thoughy, why Dansby can work inside at WILB, why Hayes is so consistent, and why Smith looks a little better then last year.

Not sure about anyone else but ther is a noticable difference to our whole front 7 when Bailey gives Watson a rest.

Watson may not get all of the sexy stats that Docket gets but Watson is the oil that makes the machine run IMO.

Watson has played very good this year. Dockett has been beating his own double teams all year, to still blow up plays in the backfield. The play where he was in the two point stance, did a swim move, and was in the backfield before the QB could plant his feet was awesome, and didn't have much to do with Watson.

It had everythiing to do with Watson, becuase the interior of the OL was already so beat up and scared by Watson they didnt even see Dockett. So there, eat them apples.

Bah.

I agree with you that Watson has been huge, but not the best player on defense. I honestly think that they are more scared by Dockett at this point.

After these two, there is a definite drop of for the 3rd best defensive player.

Wrong. May Big Beast Watson haunt you in your dreams for not being a believer.

Dockett is Watsons sidekick.

I disagree too. The only way it is about Watson is that if Dockett is only being double teamed, rather than triple teamed now. ;)

Agree to disagree.

Oh, and you never got back to me... about other kickers making more than Rackers this year.

Watson thinks it shows weakness to agree to disagree so I am not going to do it. When in doubt What Would Watson Do (WWWD).

As for the kickers and since I am at work, off the top of my head here are 13 of them.

Mare, Olindo
Hanson, Jason
Elam, Jason
Kasay, John
Reed, Jeff
Brown, Kris
Janikowski, Sebastian
Vinatieri, Adam
Lindell, Rian
Graham, Shayne
Stover, Matt
Akers, David
Wilkins, Jeff

Since Watson is being quadruple teamed and Dockett is being double teamed(that term always sounds funny to me) then now we know why Pace is doing so good. There's no more blockers left.

Dockett has already given Watson much credit for his (Docketts) success. I'm hopeful that Branch starts turning it on to give Watson an occasional rest.

Sorry guys Joeshmo has it right...Watson is the real deal on this line. I luv Dockett....I picked us to grab him in the draft on this very board but lets be real....the guy has not killed it until this year with Watson by his side making space. I would go so far as to say he was an overhyped bust until he had Watson there full time. Either way we have the makings of a real heavyduty wood laying line in the works. Lets not leave Smith out of this. He has had a great year thus far and the B train is coming on. If we can control the Lines on both sides of the ball consistantly game in and game out then I will give all props to these coaches...they will have truly changed the Cards fortunes for the future. They even have depth with Branch and Pace has played above himself so far in the 4 down lineman scheme.
