PS2 vs X-Box

For the money, the Gamecube is the best buy.

For the games, the PS 2 is the best buy...especially if you play RPGs. Kingdom Hearts is an amazingly good PS2 game based on a Disney RPG. I bought the latest version of the PS2 and supposedly it has cleared all the errors. Between my roommates and I...who are all on different schedules...that poor PS2 gets played like 8-10 hours a day and I have had zero problems with it.

The XBox is a Microsoft product. I refuse to buy it solely because I will not help expand Bill Gates Monopoly

Way to go, that should put a slight dent in the $25,000 he makes every minute of the day.

Who cares, it's the American way...he knows how to make money, why should any of us try to stop him? Cause he's stomping on the little guy?

What about Home Depot, Lowes, and how they put the little Ace Hardware's out of business?

Chris,

Go gamecube! Much more affordable and is superior to the PS2 graphically!

They also are coming out with many of the good games(like true crime) and has all of the sports games you are looking for.

Unless you are looking to play online it is the way to go IMO I have it and the PS2 and the Gamecube is a better machine!

I've been meaning to check out Kingdom Hearts. Final Fantasy mixed with Disney...sounds interesting to say the least.

I do enjoy my gamecube, but I find that I'm not using it too much because I have better games on my PS2.

My girlfriend is thinking about getting an XBox though....so we will be adding more money to Bill Gates coffers.

I agree thanks. I also don't shop Home Depot or Lowes. I go to my neighborhood Ace Hardwood. It's a little shop owned by this old couple.

You must remember that it is the American way for me to discriminate my choices on whatever I feel like.

I'm just waiting for the XBOX emu to be finished so I can play XBOX games on my computer which is much beefier then any console.

But if I had to choose I would go for XBOX over PS2.

Good luck. My guess is we won't see an Xbox emulator that actually performs well until at least the Pentium 5 becomes available. Computers now are barely able to handle the N64 emulators out there.

Yeah, it is your right to discriminate...I just think, personally, it's a waste of time in the short life span we have to get worked up about things that really don't matter in the long run.

They actually have Halo for the XBOX running alright on the emu but nothing else so far. Alot of help that was since Halo is already out for the PC.

It's all in how the emu is written. My computer makes an xbox look like a e-machine if you were to compare hardware so the real hangup is in poorly coded emu's.

Just stick to your knowledge of movies

The XBOX is basically a computer with a TV-out. It has a 733MHZ processor, a hard drive, RAM and a graphics card. It is the efficiency of the XBOX code that allows this "computer" to run the games so well. As CardinalMike said, it is the quality of the emulator that allows you to play the games on your system and use the resources available

Why wouldn't my 2.8 GHZ processor, 256 MB video card and 1 GB of ram be able to beat the XBOX? ...its all in the code baby

Are you using an emulator? You'd think, since it would appear to be so easy that SOMEONE would develop an emulator that would handle it, don't you think? I mean, it's been 3 years now since the xbox was introduced. And again, the N64 hasn't had any decent emulators in quite some time either.

That's really interesting, considering the Xbox doesn't even come close to taking advantage of all that power. If it did, you'd see a much, much bigger descrepancy in the software.
