PS3 Not Working

I tried putting Spiderman in the PS3 and it isn't working. The icon won't show up. I can play games fine. Any help is appreciated.

from the main menu go all the way to the left and select system update I believe it is.

Regular DVD and the copy is legit. I think I got it as a birthday present.

Sounds like the problem I had (only in reverse). One, or more, of your laser lens are probably dirty. If it's still under warranty, send it in to get cleaned.

I have the exact same issue. Firmware update did not work. Sony said the restore to factory defaults and that did not work. On the Sony message work, they said to stand it up and try and now the icon is there again and plays movies.

The laser is either out of alignment or dirty like stated above.
