PS3 vs XBOX 360

Ive been fighting over this in my head for weeks. The PS3 is the newer model but having 7 PS2's because they kept breaking doesnt really make me feel so comfortable. The XBOX 360 is a cool system but I dont know what the difference is between them?

Any video game nerds out there? I need help

Go 360 and don't look back. The library of games on the 360 is WAYYYY better than the PS3, and will be for at least the next year or so.

Without getting all "nerdy" Go 360. I can give you more details, but just trust me on this one.

A friend got the Nintendo Wi for his daughter but us adults were playing and I had a lot of fun. The boxing game is a great cardio workout.

The Wii is great for what it is, but not for HD gaming.

IF you want to play with it now go 360. There are not many games for the PS3 yet. I own a 360 and love it and Xbox live.

Geez, I was just mentioning about the Wi just in case he was interested. I have heard some bad things about the PS3 and not too many for the XBOX360. If they make a Halo 3 that would be a game I would definitely want to play.

Halo 3 is set for November, I believe.

No need to get defensive. I own the Wii, and I am sure that I am the biggest Wii supporter on the board (hence my sig). The bad thing about the PS3, other than the price, is the lack of quality titles. That is to be expected in the first year of a console's release. The Wii 's titles are even beginning to lack, but they have at least a couple of quality titles, while the PS3 arguably only has one.

I have heard very little bad about the 360. It really is a good system, and the best overall console on the market right now. (The DS isn't really a console, so that doesn't count)

Xbox 360 is better now, but after this summer when the PS3 gets more games and hopefully fix whatever problems they had on the first ones it should be quite a bit better. PS2 had more choices that Xbox right? So I think they'll have plenty of game choices soon. Xbox 360 is cheaper, but PS3 has free online gaming and if you get Xbox Live it'll end up being more expensive overall in 3 years.

PS3's online gaming leaves a lot to be desired. If PS3's network can come anywhere close to replicating what Xbox Live has been able to do, I'd agree with you. ATM, I don't see it happening, and $50 a year (less if you buy a year card off of eBay) is well worth the experience.

The Playstation matching making sucks. There is voice communication with every Xbox Live game, while only selected Playstation games have voice communication. The Playstation network is game to game, and not unified. The Xbox Live's friends list is much more detailed as well.

The list goes on and on.

Sony Discontinues 20GB Playstation 3

Sony has announced they’ll no longer sell the 20GB Playstation 3 in North America. They’ve dropped it in favor of the 60GB version, which has built-in WiFi along with more expansion slots. Though they’ve discontinued the model, they’ll continue to support those that have been purchased.

There is nothing to indicate that the PS3 will get better with the release of new titles. Sony is losing most of it's EXCLUSIVE titles to the 360 now. There have been at least 5 announcments in the last few months about the most loyal Sony game developers moving over or including the Xbox 360 in their development plans. Basically what that means is that developers are losing confindence in PS3 ability to dominate this generation and see the 360 install base as something they want to exploit. So most major titles will be headed to the 360 and that's one area Sony used to dominate in the PS2 era. That has all changed with this generation.

Yes. Final Fantasy XI is already out. I don't believe that Final Fantasy no longer a PS2 only title. There will be Final Fantasy games that come out for each system, and only that system though.

Make sense? There will be Final Fantasy games for each system, but each one will be unique to each system.

Neither system is flawless. The 360's have the "red ring of death" on about 1 of 30 systems (that's an estimate).

The new elite's are very cool if you have an HDTV and an HDMI port. The bigger hard drive helps.

PS3's got some lovely built in features, but because it's a new developmental process a lot of game designers aren't sure where to start. The PS3 does have very high potential, but then again so did the Jaguar and the Dreamcast.

Getting the 360 out a full year ahead of the 3 was considered a bit brash at the time it launched, but so far it looks like Microsoft is winning the war.

PS3's $600 price tag doesn't help them one bit either and they don't have a competent online system to go against Xbox Live.
