Purdue's Joey Blaze pulled off a shocking upset on Friday afternoon at the NCAA Wrestling Championships.

Blaze, a sophomore wrestling for the Boilermakers at 157 pounds, beat No. 1 seed Tyler Kasak of Penn State in the third round, 5-4. Seeded eighth, Blaze advanced to the semifinals against No. 20 seed Trevor Chumbley of Northwestern.

Against Kasak, Blaze trailed 4-2 with a little over a minute left in the match. With 50 seconds remaining, Blaze scored a three-point takedown to secure the victory.
