I could easily see ANY of the above teams taking a QB high in the draft.

Giants - they could wait another year or two, but could easily pull a Chiefs move and prepare for the future now. And at 0-3 now, they could easily finish below the Cardinals.

If the 49ers sign Cousins, as is heavily rumored, remove them from the above list but add the Redskins. The Redskins might finish ahead of the Cardinals, but there's a long way to go so who knows. Either way, a possible swap of the 49ers for the Redskins on this list would be helpful for the Cardinals. Though if the 49ers get Cousins, they could be candidates to trade back in the draft with a QB-needy team, and they'd be less inclined to trade back to help the Cardinals get a QB.

Saints - they have GOT to be about ready to find their QB of the future.

Bills - they don't seem satisfied with Taylor, and they drafted Peterman but not until round 5, so there is a chance that they would be in the market again.

Bengals - wow, if they continue to lose, could they move on from Dalton? They would have little dead money and a big cap savings if they did it after this year. Dalton was horrible in the first two games, but played well in game 3. McCarron is a free agent after this year. I wonder if we'll see them give McCarron a shot at starting at some point? This situation bears watching.

Steelers - they have GOT to be about ready to find their QB of the future.

Chargers - they may be ready to find their QB of the future, and to try to make a fresh start in L.A. They very well could wait another year or two, though.

I agree with all this. So potential 8 teams other than us (and I'd include browns if Keizer doesn't convince) that could be in market for QB.

The NFL has a huge problem that leads to mediocre QBs. Offensive line. The college teams don't train NFL potential lineman. Spread offenses have destroyed NFL O line play. Most of these guys can't even line up in a 3 point stance. Check out the 1st round o line draft picks the last 5 years. A whole bunch of 3rd round talent at best. They may have size but lack in talent.

Arians is a dinosaur and his QB and O line style is dead.

Find me a QB candidate who can step up in the pocket and make quick release throws. The classic QB is extinct.

Wow, mobile QBs might be the wave of the future, and clearly more mobility is better in ANY QB, but here are the current league leaders in yards:

1. Rodgers - pocket QB but so mobile that he's probably the prototype of what you're talking about
2. Brady- classic pocket QB
3. Palmer (yep!) - classic pocket QB
4. Brees - mobile pocket QB
5. Ryan - classic pocket QB
6. Glennon - classic pocket QB
7. Manning - classic pocket QB
8. Goff - classic pocket QB
9. Wentz - mobile pocket QB
10. Cousins - classic pocket QB
11. Smith - classic pocket QB
12. Rivers - classic pocket QB
13. Roethlisberger - mobile pocket QB
14. Wilson - ok once again probably exemplifies what you're talking about
15. Siemian - classic pocket QB

So sure, mobility is great, and the problems you point out regarding the O-line are 100% valid, but i don't think you can declare the classic QB extinct just yet.

My dream world scenario, Cards trade for Luck, even though it costs a bunch of draft picks. Fitzgerald decides to play 4 more years, Arians sticks around, and the Cardinals win multiple Super Bowls.

I did not imply "mobile QBs". I am talking about pocket presence. Guys who use the pocket and are not 1 read and run.

I think the scrambling QB is really a cheap thrill, see what has become of the Krapper and Cam Newton of late... that just does not work well after a period of time and most scramble because the OL is bad and appear to fit the purpose and a bad OL does not win Super Bowls, the OL is what needs to be a priority

A quarterback that has mobility is a good find, but it needs to be far down their list of options. Only a good OL will keep your qb intact no matter what your system.

Our OL is troubled by injuries again. Boehm was ostensibly drafted as a center but BA's strange attachment to Shipley has forced Boehm to play guard. Shipley, like Sendlein, is a serviceable center at best, and would be the weak link on a good line, but whom has stayed intact well enough to be forced to remain.

I am surprised by the lack of development and interest in Dorian Johnson. Having him become the stud he was projected to be would be a big help in the interior.

You can't really fault the front office. In the Keim era, they've brought in Mike Iupati, Jared Veldheer, Evan Mathis, Alex Boone, AQ Shipley, Tony Bergstrom, and drafted Jonathan Cooper in the first, DJ Humphries in the first, Evan Boehm in the middle rounds, and guys like Toner and Holden later. No shortage of effort to be sure. You just can't predict injuries, hitting the age wall, or a guys heart for the game.

I have to do more film study, but as of right now here are the QBs I am very intrigued with:

1. Lamar Jackson, Louisville. A right-handed Mike Vick. Lightning in a bottle. Raw, but highly skilled. Wouldn't be a fit for BA's system, but if my hunch is correct and SK already knows this is BA's last year, then the new HC needs to be fully on board with the QB the Cardinals draft.

2. Sam Darnold, USC. He's the kind of QB who gets stronger as the season progresses. Has the arm, strength and competitiveness to be very good. Exceptional release point. One of the best in years.

3. Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma. I like fiery, sparkplug QBs like Drew Brees and Kirk Cousins and I think Mayfield is a quick-footed cross between those two.

4. Trace McSorley, Penn St. While I think he'd be better off playing another year at Penn St., he has the "it" factor. Tough nosed, resilient, often at his best when the game is on the line. Like Mayfield, he's a smaller QB, but, like Mayfield, he leaves everything he has out on the field. Plus, McSorley throws an excellent deep ball with air, timing, touch and accuracy.

QBs I need to see more of but thus far have my doubts:

1. Josh Rosen, UCLA. Doesn't strike me as a leader. Has the skills, but something's missing. Need to see more of him.
2. Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma St. Very efficient, but strikes me as a system QB. Not sure how his game translates to the NFL.
3. Josh Allen, Wyoming. Was hoping he'd play like Carson Wentz, but thus far this year, not close.
4. Luke Falk, WSU. Need to see whether he can throw accurately from 25-55 yards. Wonder about his ability to hold up in the pocket.

No mention of Jake Bentley? He probably isnt eligible but he is getting love from scouts.

Watch out for Riley Ferguson from Memphis he may have the best arm strength in the country. He is going to wow at the combine plus he has a great story. He is a gunslinger though and will throw into tight windows because he has such confidence in his arm.
