If Leinart doesn't have a very good season to justify a restructuring next offseason, we better pray that Skelton is as good as many on this board felt he could be before being drafted!!!
maybe I have caught some Mitch-itis, but I have this feeling that Max Hall might turn out to be the better qB prospect

You might be right, but I really believe if the Redbirds put him on the PS he will be picked up by someone. Do the Cards keep 4 QB's?
Doubt it. Seems like Whis likes to stock the PS fridge with DLs OLs and LBs.
In Hall and Skelton, you're dealing with 2 contrasting styles:maybe I have caught some Mitch-itis, but I have this feeling that Max Hall might turn out to be the better qB prospect
The thing that sold me on John Skelton was the way he handled himself and the way he performed on the ESPN Draft Special. The fact that he has been staying on in Arizona to try to learn the playbook is another indication that this kid has his eyes on the brass rings. Hey, he could easily concede that he won't play much this year, if at all, so why not just go on vacation like almost everyone else? The answer is: this kid wants to get after it and he is taking nothing for granted. This approach is Fitz-esque. Man, it's just great to see the improved attitude of the Cardinals' players. They have reacted so well to Whiz, Lott and the coaching staff and at this point have taken the ownership of responsibility.
Watching all the QBs this pre-season will be very interesting. While Whiz will run the ball more in the regular season than he did last year, he will try to shape up the passing game in the pre-season in order to learn what he has in Leinart, Anderson, Skelton and Hall...and what kind of rhythm and chemistry they can generate with the WRs.
John Skelton, ARI: Because of his ideal size (6-foot-6, 243 pounds) and raw arm strength, Skelton got a lot of press as an under-the-radar quarterback sleeper before the draft. He ended up dropping to the fifth round,
though, where Arizona picked him up. Why did he drop? Well, because he’s not all that good; he completed 59
percent of his passes at Fordham, and he was the first-team all-Patriot League quarterback exactly once. Guys
who play in lesser conferences need to scorch earth, not merely play pretty well.
if he ever sees the field as a 5th round drafted QB, you would have to consider the pick a success. If he's even around in 3-4 years then, maybe, you may start to consider some PT possibilities. Some quick down-to-earth analysis on Skelton from FootballOutsiders' new annual:
He's going to look excellent on the sideline. The over/under on Mitch wondering allowed why Skelton isn't getting a shot as the starter or in sub packages is Week 12.

I think that if John Skelton is still on an NFL roster by the end of his contract, that's a pretty good win. Honestly, based on this list, I hope he never sees the field for the Arizona Cardinals.
Too bad we didnt wait til the 6th to pick him so we could create the same list of R6 QBs and then hope we got the next Tom Brady. He is a project but you cant teach 6'6" 243lbs, So he has that going for him. It will be fun to see where he ends up.
