Backup quarterback Joshua Dobbs introduced himself to New England Patriots fans with a quick video message after officially signing his contract with the team.
Dobbs spent last season with the San Francisco 49ers. He appeared in two games for the team and went 32-of-47 throwing for 361 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for two touchdowns during the year.
The former University of Tennessee standout has been on 10 different teams since arriving in the NFL in 2017
"What's up, Pats fans? Josh Dobbs here, just signed. Excited to get to work and get this thing rolling. We'll see you guys in the fall," said Dobbs.
Dobbs will provide veteran experience to a young quarterback room continuing to develop.
He could play an important role for the franchise behind Drake Maye this upcoming season, especially if the team decides to trade 2024 sixth-round draft pick Joe Milton III.
