That is all I will address after this last pre-season game. Since I do not know how many QB's the team will keep, (they have been saying only two), I will go with that for now.

I will say that after watching all the preseason games, my selection for #3 QB on this team would be Logan Thomas. I base that on several things. First, I believe that in the 4 pre-season games, Thomas played better than Sims in both games three and four. I feel that Sims was clearly better in game two, and that in game 1, the play between them was fairly close. To me, I believe that Thomas was clearly the one who performed best under pressure. He delivered the two minute drill in game three to post the winning score at the end of the game. Then again, he brought his unit from behind in the 2nd half of game 4 to score two touchdowns, (which included the beautifully played play action bomb to JJ Nelson). He was very accurate in both games three and four, and he also had a great command of the huddle and was apparently up to knowing all he needed to know of the play book, as well as those plays drawn up in the 'sand' as referred to by Coach Bruce Arians after the game.

In addition Thomas, (I feel), has measurables that even had the two played evenly all pre-season, gives Thomas the edge at having a better up-side by virtue of his height, weight, speed, and arm strength. He is much taller than Sims, and had fewer balls batted down during their competition. I believe it also gave him the edge in getting his reads done in progression because of his height advantage. I believe he throws a more catchable and more accurate long ball than Sims, as with his big arm, he does not have to force his throws nearly so much to gain the distance needed to hit Smoke and Fire on the run deep. His deep throws appear to be more under control as opposed to heaving it all out like Sims needs to do on deep throws. He has also shown that when he needs to run to get out of trouble, he is at least as quick and fast as Sims, and once again his height helps him to see the field better than Sims does once the two are forced to run. I believe that all these measurables that Thomas has over Sims, gives him a great up-side advantage over Sims in the long run, (even if the two were evenly matched by their stats). Yet clearly, Thomas has put up stats that I don't feel that Sims has matched during the pre-season games.

Since Thomas is practice squad eligible, I believe the team could, (and should), place Thomas there if they only keep two QBs on the active roster. If they decide to keep three QBs then I believe Thomas should be that #3 QB on the roster, and Sims should go to the practice squad. I believe that Thomas has done everything that this team has asked of him, (being the practice squad qb last year), although it meant he did not get any reps with our play book all year to speak of. Then handling the competition with Sims the way he did this year, and leading his unit to victories in the only two games that the Cardinals won in pre-season this year. He was drafted to be a three year project, and he appears to be well on his way to being a contender for a starting spot come next year, or stepping in this year if Stanton is not able to play due to injury.

Yea LT has shown improvement from last year and that is what we drafted him for. His potential because of arm strength/size/and speed combination.

Agree with BOTH posts. Whether you hate or love LT, any objective appraisal would have to say that his performance this year is better than last year. He's still a year or two away from being an NFL QB, but I think we should keep him. Whether he's on the '53' or the PS, that's why we pay SK the big bucks to make that decision. Naturally, the composition of the final roster will figure heavily into that decision.

LT did have a good game. Most of his throws were short out pattern but he placed the ball in the right spot and had touch on the ball. Not like last year where everything was a bullet. You can see the improvement and how he handles the team and surveys the field. Not sure I would try to sneak him on the PS as other teams are watching. We put in a lot of the preliminary hard work on this kid and it would hurt to just give him to another team at this stage of his development.

I've said it before and here it is again. LT will not make it through waivers. Especially now that he is showing real signs of actually being an NFL QB. The only reason he wasn't drafted higher was because teams felt his accuracy was broken and couldn't be fixed, but he has been accurate on almost every throw in this preseason and with no signs of airmailing the ball like last year.

To waive him would be a waste of a full year of development the Cards put into him as he would be picked up quickly. I also think PS will be gone to. I have a feeling they will keep 3 QB as they won't want to risk losing LT. If they keep 3, they may not keep a QB on the PS. I really like Sims and was hoping we could keep him in someway, but I doubt he passes waivers if the cards waive him.

I don't think Logan Thomas would be picked up if waived. Even if he was picked up you could always fall back on Simms. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cardinals went with 2 QBs on the 53 man roster.

No way they waive LT over Sims. They put to much into LT to drop him.

I'm saying that they waive both of them and go with just 2 QBs on the 53.

That's just it. I think they were planning on going to 2 QBs but now that LT played so well, they might not want to take the chance on loosing him in waivers.

He played good against 3rd and 4th stringers who won't be on a NFL team tomorrow.

For another team to pick him up they will have to use one of their 53 man roster spots. I don't think any team will be willing to stash a QB, who still isn't ready to start a real NFL game yet, on their 53 man roster. I guess for me LT is still a huge project and I don't expect anything out of him this year. So to risk losing him to waivers isn't that risky to me.

I would like the Cardinals to keep LT. I think LT has shown improvement as a QB but there is always the fall back possibility of him playing TE down the road. The Cardinals can never seems to get the TE position fixed.

I think he can play the same against 1st stringers just as good as he did against the 2nds and 3rds.
