Less to do with McCoy and all to do with Whis.

What's interesting is that when Ken Whisenhunt took over again as OC in 2016, Phillip Rivers had the most INTs in a single season in his career and his worst QB rating and completion % as a full-time starter since 2007.
I'm not trying to discount Whisenhunt for his help in reviving Rivers as he deserves credit, but McCoy also deserves credit because of his involvement in the offense and history of getting the most out of his quarterbacks. It's just further examples of how McCoy has positively impacted most QBs he's been around.
