Could be that McCown has put up the stats due to our WR core? He misses wide open receivers from time to time. But, can move out of the pocket. I doubt he'll put up big numbers elsewhere, without a consistent passing attack and very good receivers. Navarre is too stationary and probably won't help us, unless we improve our O-line. If we can sign McCown for a decent price, I'd keep him (but that probably won't be the case, ie, the decent price).
There are no FAs that thrill me.
If we are going for a top notch QB, I'd take Jay Cutler (provided Ferguson is not on the board). He has arm strength, accuracy, mobility and can run the ball. I do not believe Cutler will drop too far in the first round.
Another prospect could be Barrick Nealy, QB at Texas State. I have not seen him play, but word is that he is very accurate and a very good runner - a possibility for the 3rd round. Note: he passed for 378 yards in a loss against Texas A&M this year.
