Question about drafting a WR

Why in the world would the Cards want to draft a WR at the #3 spot. Everyone on here always says it takes a year or two to develope a WR, so drafting a WR in this position means we won't have any help out of this spot for the 2004 season. I would much rather see us garner a free agent WR with good experience who would help immediately. If a position of need player isn't available at the #3 spot, trade down, get extra 1st. round picks and get people who can help this team immediately.

You dont get many chances at a top 3 pick. We need to stay pat and take a star at #3. Be it Ben or Fitz...

i think we can get a good wr or cb in the later rounds, i think i saw on a top 100 list for the draft there are 12 wr, and 10 cb on the list we need a franchise qb first then we need to load up on some defense and a center
