I am a die-hard fan born and raised on the south-side of Chicago.

My jake plummer jersey is for the birds now, and that is a damn shame becuase it is a sweet jersey! It cost about 175 bucks and is the "sown on numbers and Nameplate" style. So I was thinking why not see if you know anyonein the arz area that could sew on Boldin's name and number on my jersey and take the old ones off.
Hell, even if there are any south-siders here on this board that know any secret joints to try.

thanks for any help!

Can't help you with your question, but I have one of my own--Where are you from? My dad is from Sicero (sp?).

I'd try Fielder's Dream right at 35 and Union (about three blocks from Sox Park). That's where my kids had my leather Cardinals jacket made. I'm glad there are a few of us left. Went to my first Cards game in 1958 and have been hooked ever since!

South Side represent.....my mom is from Palos Heights, and her brother played hockey at Mt. Caramel with his good friend Chris Chelios, who at that time was a little punk, with no talent!!! My mom's bro was much better, but died of cancer at 22, God rest his soul. I always love to hear the stories about Chicago, especially the prohibition stories....

No but I guess I could take one. IN fact maybe I'll just do that. It's 1 of a kind and says "Phoenix Cardinals" on the back.

thats great---- I was born in oak lawn, grew up die hard Sox, Hawks, Bulls, and Cards fan! Of course I'm only 23, it was my father who introduced me to the team.

Hey, thanks for the info on fielders dream! Do you know of any Cards bars on the southside, I usually just go to Bourban Street with my friends to catch all the action but if there was a neighborhood cards bar that would be cool too! ( i know there probably isn't)

Go Marist and go Sox!!!!!!! Cards fever!

Everything you wrote was OK with me except the reference to marist. As a long ago graduate of St.Rita I won't hold that against you.

oh man...

South side of Chicago?
Featured in many stories by great American writer Nelson Algren.
His rugged, un-candycoated descriptions of the down and outers made the Polish community there try to get his writing BANNED...
Take your library card and check out "A Walk on the Wild Side" or "The Neon Wilderness"...

I'm both Polish and from the southside but I'm always game to read interesting books. Have never been for censorship by the way.
