Things have changed.

And if we get him, Shipp stays at #2, because if henry won't split carries with McGahee, there is no way in Hades he'd share with the Tugboat. And if we get him and lose him after next year (when he becomes a free agent) I am not for it. Those three concerns together need to be addressed before a move like this is a great move. Just saying I worry about some stuff. I'm all for an upgrade, but let's make sure we are getting what the team wants.
The problem is top 5 or even top 10 backs don't become available all that often. When they do, getting one seems to be a good investment (Faulk, Bettis, Dillon, and Ricky Williams even though he flaked out).
Your 3 concerns:
1) RB's split carries but he wants to be 'the man'. In Buffalo...McGahee is the man...If Henry comes to AZ he will be the man and Shipp will get some carries too.
2) Henry's agent has already said he would sign an extension with his new team. These deals are usually done and agreed to before a trade.
3) Fumbles...an issue. Does the good outway the bad? IMO...Yes.
