Question on the latest worm deal

It's exploiting a hole in Windows they say and there's a patch on microsoft's site that you can now get from Windows update. If you're running firefox at home do you still need to do the patch? to do that, you have to open explorer and go to the windows update site, so is it more dangerous to do that than to NOT do that?

I don't think it has anything to do with IE...it's a Windows 2000 worm.

Like mike said it is a networking flaw in Windows 2000.

It is a good idea to patch your system in any event.


If you are behind a firewall the virus would have to get introduced somehow.

You would have to have an infected computer on your network or open an e-mail attachment that infects your computer.
