It is hard for me to watch other teams without thinking about the Suns.

1. Defense matters. I watched the Pacers shut down the Celtics and Artest made Pierce look terrible. There was no drop off in defensive intensity when they got a big lead and when they played their backup plaers. I hope the Suns players watched this game because it was a defensive clinic. In the Net's game, they were very effective defensively in the second half against the Knicks.

2. Fast break efficiency. The in the first half the Nets ran the fast break against the Knicks extremely well. They passed the ball and rarely fumbled it. By contrast, unless the they make a steal, the Suns fast break is no where near as dangerous and they don't push to the basket as often.

3. Team play matters. The Celtics fell apart when Artest took away Pierce and when the Nets took away Stephon's drives in the third quarter, the Knicks fell apart. The TV guys said that he is a great individual player, but not a great "team" player.

4. Depth matters. The Pacers second team was just awsome. The Nets second line people played quite well, although they really miss Kidd when he's out. The TV guys said that Jefferson's shooting went down early in the season because he was playing too many minutes but came back when his minutes went down.
