This discussion is kind of useless, but it is the offseason. For what it's worth, Strahan, Peppers, and Little are the exceptions that prove the rule.

Rice, Freeney, Burgess, Will Smith, Justin Smith, Jason Taylor, etc., etc. all line up across from the LOT.

Rice is washed up. Freeney moves around from right to left quite frequently. I wouldnt consider Justin Smith and elite pass rushing DE call me crazy.

I believe in todays NFL they are about as equally important. JMHO.
To add to what k9 said, they don't usually move from side to side, either. Does it happen within the game? Yeah, some. But not a lot.

Doesn't matter. Teams generally put their best pass-rusher on the right side of the DL--and they usually stay there even if facing a lefty.

We'll have to disagree then both freeney and Merriman do it pretty frequently as did Berry the year he got 15 sacks

He's the Bengals' pass rushing DE. As is Berry for the Cards. Freeney moves around some, but I wouldn't say "quite frequently." Umeniora for the Giants is probably the better pure pass rusher than Strahan is.

John Abraham, Alex Brown/Mark Anderson, Elvis Dumervil, etc., etc. It doesn't matter whether they're elite or washed up, or whatever. It's where the team puts their best pass rusher, and on balance, it's the right side of the defensive line.

Even the Seahawks switched Patrick Kearney over to the RDE spot, according to ESPN.com.

Just to add There was a no shortage of really good pass rushers who got double digit sacks from the lesft side of the defense. Look it up.

Pryce, Little, Kampman, and more......

I actually did. That's pretty much the list, although Pryce plays DE in a 3-4, so that doesn't really count. Although Kyle Vanden Bosch for the Titans plays that side. You can have Andre Carter in Washington, too. Don't forget Aaron Schobel from the Right side of the Bills' line. Or Darren Howard for the Eagles (Kearse plays more in run support now). Kalimba Edwards is the Lions best pass rusher on the outside. He plays on the right. Mario Williams plays on the right side for the Titans.

You wanna add these up and see where the preponderance of the pass rushers line up?

So I guess the blind-side theory is out the window, too.

The Cardinals history has shown that they rarely sign first round picks on time, it'd be nice to see our first round pick in camp and not have the lone hold out a week or 2 in to training camp...again.

No kidding... this gets old.

Wow, while we've been arguing with each other, this thread has done a pretty good job of mimicking the arguments that both sides will be making in negotiations. :)
