9-0 is a douche. Can't wait till he leaves.

DD has his demons but has become a far better human being and obviously his teammates like and respect him or they wouldn't have voted him Captain.

not sure being voted captain is really much proof of how good of a human being one is. Mr. Incognito's proof of that (as was Ray Lewis...and any Cowboy during the Triplets era...and the list probably goes on and on).

Good human being or not, he brings fire and nastiness to the defense. Even if his stats don't always look great, he's a captain for a reason. I personally don't care whether these guys are a little bit nasty on the field.. Dockett seems to stay out of trouble off the field and does good for the community.

Truth hurts Smelly. Dockett's comment about wanting us to be more like 9er fans was spot on.

He said when he goes to their stadium he gets called names, boo'd and generally feels very unwelcome bording on feeling intimidated.

As opposed to our stadium where opposing players are greeted by apathetic Cardinal "Fans" who just want everyone to sit down and be quiet, leigons of fans for their team who bought tickets cheap from brokers, and by SAFE security guards who are there to kick Cardinal fans out who dare to stand up and yell because they are disturbing the aforementioned opposing teams fans and apathetic cardinal fans...

Truth hurts. If you disagree with any of that you obviously havn't been to a game in a while Smel. We have some AMAZING fans, a lot of them post here, but we also have some sorry fans at Cardinals games. I agree with DD, I wish we were more like a lot of other stadiums, but it is what it is, I'm thankful for what we do have, but I'm not gonna be mad at him for telling the truth.

As for Dockett being a good person? Listen to stories like Chris and Section11. He sticks up for his teammates on the field and he treats fans with love and generosity off the field. What's not to like? Cuz he says cuss words on twitter?

DD has had to overcome several obstacles in his life such as coming home to see his mom had been murdered. Can any of us relate to how that felt or the impact it had on him? Early in his FB career he played outside the rules far too often. In recent years he has toned that down. He does make poor decisions on twitter etc. but has also toned that down. Then you have the examples from section 11 etc. So IMHO he has become a better human being.

I also am impressed with improved leadership skills which has been confirmed by his teammates voting him captain.

Now I don't necessarily correlate the two but it can't be ruled out either.

Is that better?

doesn't need to be better. I don't know if the guy is a good guy or bad guy. Just saying being voted captain doesn't speak much for a guy's character in the NFL in general.

His character wasn't being linked to being a captain in my original post.

1) He has grown as a human being.

2) He also has the respect of his teammates because they voted him captain.

Some posters are bashing DD and I'm trying to say that he has grown as a human being and he also his a great leader because he was voted a captain.

Considering what Dockett has gone through and where he came from, he is someone who should be admired for having the strength and fortitude to get to his present position. Kudos to him for his effort as both a player and a worthwhile human being.
