From my casual observation it sure seems like when they spend a long time in the huddle, it's a pass, if it's a short huddle, they run.

If I can figure this out, do you think defenses can?

Its because it takes longer to say:
"Fitz, you line up on the cheerleader side of the field, run down to the blonde and then cut for the bald ref. Quan, you run as fast as you can about 6 yards then cut over the middle, try to wave so I'll see you. Bryant, you just run as fast as you can down the sideline opposite Fitz, but remember to keep looking back at me all the way, you never know when I might have to throw the ball. Edge, you sneak through the pass rush to just beyond where Step falls down, turn around and smile, so the gleam will catch my eye, in case I can't see anything else. Milford and Reggie, you're going to be the red herrings on this play to confuse the defense, Mildford, you pull left, Reggie, you pull right.
Step and Big....the snap count is on "2", that comes right after "1". Oliver, rememeber that DE in front of you needs to be slowed down as he's been trying to rip my head off every play. Leonard, after you pretend this is a screen play, and after your man jets by you, you run a 10 yard slant over the middle, if the ball is anywhere near you, you try and tip it to Quan or Fitz, or if they aren't around, to whomever seems closest. Adam, what are you doing here in the huddle?
Any questions? OK, lets all meet at Denny's for a chili dog after the game. I got approval to put it on the team tab. "
Than, "Edge, I'm gonna give you the ball, run like your life depends on it".

Is everything
In order to better disguise playcalling next week, the Cards will be using a straw to diagram plays in the dirt rather than the big stick they have been using.

I do not break down the film like a lot of you do but there is one play against Atlanta that still puzzles me. It was a run play to the left. We had 2 wideouts to the left of the formation. When the ball was snapped their DE took an inside slat and LD blocked him in to seal him. But the part that I don’t understand is Atl then had 2 LBs and a DB in the backfield just to the left of LD before Edge got the ball and dropped him for a lose. They were totally sold out to a run to that side as soon as the ball was snapped if not sooner. If the Cards would have ran a pass play to that side there is no way they could have stopped it. I don’t know but it sure looked like Atl 100% knew that it was going to be a stretch play to the left. Maybe they just guessed right? There were other plays like this, it is just that this one got stuck in my mind.

Are the O-line calls tipping the plays? Are they tipping plays some other way? I assume that they watch film to make sure they are not tipping off plays (that might be a big assumption on my part) that is why I think it might be more vocal then physical that the Ds are keying on.

Last week Juerecki mentioned that he was going to reveal how the Cards were tipping off plays of run or pass. DId he ever air it on the radio show?

I'm not sure how we're tipping plays off but must admit that, at the very start of each play, I'm pretty sure whether it will be a run or pass - seldom do the Cards cross me up.

It's probably pretty subtle. Maybe it's the handoff. Maybe it's our offensive linemen leaning backward or lined up an extra foot or two into our backfield on passing plays. Maybe it's our RB's leaning slightly more forward on running plays. Maybe our receivers look in differently toward the QB on pass plays than they do on run plays.

One reason why a lot of offensive linemen wear gloves is because a long time ago, it turned out a lineman was tipping off plays through the lack of color in his fingers as he tilted forward to get ready to run block

I don't think it is a matter of tipping off plays.

I think it is a matter of the center letting the DT 10 yards in the backfield about 0.001 seconds after the snap regardless if it is a run or pass.

Well hell we don't play action with Kurt so when he turns around to hand the ball off the D knows it is going to be a run play.

After the snap to get in the backfield? I thought the Cardinals were letting the DT's line up in the backfield before the snap...
