Clutch, blutch. That has nothing to do with why he missed those 50+ yarders. He missed them regardless. Wheter we were down 20-22 in the 4th quarter or 40-13 in the first. Plus some stupid penalties on special teams really made him look even worse. Yes, he wasn't perfect. But to blame him for not converting 7/7 FGs (50+yds) is just ridiculous.

Rackers makes that 40 yard FG on Monday night and this thread would have never come up. That was a huge miss... although many long time Cardinal fans expected him to either miss it or for the Bears to return the ensuing kickoff for a TD.

Based on that photo, it should have been a shanker!

Based on aerodynamics the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly.

I can't believe all the soap opera Sallys making such a big deal of all this.

I predict Rackers will be just fine. Anyone wanna wager against it ???

You know that is a misleading stat. It is the same situation w/ BJ. Statistically he doesn't have bad hands, but he drops balls in the end zone. Rackers was banging out kicks in the first quarter no problem, but when the end was near or the score was close he choked. Parcells would have cut him at least three different times last year.

Thank you for saying what I was trying to say...lol

I will take that bet. When a guy has a bunch of up and down years and then one good year you shouldn't expect a good year the next. He has always been streaky and chokish. '05 was the fluke, not '06. For the record however, I do like him and am OK with him being the kicker. His leg is a valueable asset on special teams and he gives you the option of kicking a field goal of 50yds or more when many teams would be forced to punt.

I have a hypothesis...

There were a bunch of dufuses in section 112 last year that got hammered every game wearing T-shirts with stuff like "I party with Rackers" scrawled all over them with Sharpies. If those were truly his buds last season, then I'm not surprised he had his head all screwed up.
