The Vortex!
New week, new game, home opener!
Let's move on and get this started.

The team was embrassed last week and knows it.
We see an entirely different team this week.
Focused, pissed and nasty, especially the defense!

I'm saying 38 to 17 ish, Birdgang.

Hopefully, no one gets stabbed in the stands.

10-3 we win in one of the most boring card game in history, anderson throws 2 picks early hall comes in and leds the cards to a close victory :) one can dream right.

Cards win 2 - 0. We win the coin toss and go 3 and out in the OT but our kicker pins them deep and Calais Campbell sacks the QB in the end zone. Let the celebration begin.

Can you imagine if the Cards lose to the freaking Raiders at home? This board would go thermonuclear.

Cards 24 Raiders 17

Gradkowski is getting the start and that concerns me. His stats aren't great but the team rallies behind him and he has a winning record as the starter. I guess command of the huddle and respect of the team does mean something, if you can hit the side of a barn. :)

It's actually a very interesting decision because it created a coaching controversy. Hue Jackson the OC came out and said it was his idea to switch QB's at the half, he talked Cable into doing it. Many consider Jackson the heir apparent to Cable when he's inevitably fired, and they see this as Jackson undermining Cable by taking credit for the move.

So you have both a QB controversy, and a coaching one.

I think we'll win, but sometimes controversy rallies a team.

I expect a complete reversal from last week.
1. The team will come out motivated and fast.
2. The Defense will make some plays and force the Oakland Offense to struggle.
3. The Offense will move the ball with some success and convert a few 3rd downs leading to sustained drives and points.
4. We will get the "breaks". A good bounce here, a turnover there and the refs will be flagging the Raiders for penalties, not just the Cardinals.

Basically, everything which went poorly (and that's everything) will be improved.
The Cardinals will win this game by 2 scores or more.

This does not guarantee anything for the week after. After winning this Sunday, it is the game in San Diego which will demonstrate where our team really is.

Jackson said he went to Cable at halftime last week with the Raiders trailing 7-3, suggesting the switch at quarterback. Cable said the staff had talked earlier in the week about needing better quarterback play. He went ahead with it and Gradkowski rallied Oakland to the win.

So does this mean that they had discussed putting Gradkowski in earlier in the week?

Russ, I know you are very informed on the teams in the Bay area so did you hear/read something else that leads to your point about the potential coaching controversy?
