In a small defense to Stanton, he really had no time to throw last week. DJ was getting torched off the line non stop

Kareem Martin is the biggest hype machine of the offseason.

I have seen nothing that would make him any better than someone like Lorenzo Alexander and that is no compliment.

At least Alexander has shown why he was a Pro Bowl ST's player a few times this offseason.

Ron Wolfley constantly reminds people that Martin had the same measurables as Javedeon Clowney at the Combine. That doesn't make Martin look better, Wolf.

To be fair, Martin has been more productive in the NFL thus far...

:biglaugh:

Martin: 8 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FF
Clowney: 7 tackles

He's learning a new position, but he needs to step it up and get a sack at least.

We went 1-3 in the last pre season and that worked out okay.

Yeah — I honestly do not care what the scoreboard says for another three weeks. All I want to see is whether our young guys can win one-on-one battles and whether our veterans can stay healthy.

I'm not even sweating how terrible our entire linebacking corps looks. For the first time in forever, I don't feel like we have to rely on overwhelming talent. I expect that the coaching staff has something worked out to help cover up weaknesses in the talent pool.

Needless to say, I'm pretty stoked to have all my optimism dashed when the Cards open the season 1-3 and Carson Palmer accidentally plunges his right hand into a garbage disposal.

Alexander doesn't deserve to be in the starting lineup either & he's listed número uno on the depth chart. :doi: He's never been a starter & shouldn't be now regardless of whoms on this roster. The whole LB'ing corp isn't all that desirable right now ugh

Re: Clowney ...he's played about as much as Troy Nick-d glass.

So no hype there

I'd like to see the O line keep our QB's upright...as you know the Raiders will be sending the house to get Carson....

Raiders have no reason to hate on Palmer...he was traded, and they really like the guy they have now.
However, they do have a couple young beasts on the defensive front that we will have a hard time blocking regardless.

Let's just get out of the black hole intact,.. and without any bleeding fans in the stands, and call it a win.

As for your comments on QB #2.... how many years has he been in the league that he's suddenly going to learn to look off the primary receiver? I'm not exactly hopeful about that prospect.

Kareem Martin flashed for a play or 2 but has looked lackluster for most of his plays. I've eyeballed him a lot and he doesn't keep his motor going.

I don't think it's motor so much as he's either not very instinctive or he's thinking too much. Usually a guy will have his fundamental technique down solid so he can focus on the structure or the play, or their understanding of the scheme is so solid that they can build on their technique.

Martin looks to me like a guy who's technique isn't in place and doesn't know for sure what he's supposed to be doing, so there is almost no attack in his game.
