PFT is saying the internet rumors are wrong.

POSTED 12:47 p.m. EDT, September 3, 2007

MOSES WASN'T CUT BY MISTAKE

Despite from Internet rumors and reports that the Raiders accidentally released defensive end Quentin Moses, the team's third-round pick in the 2007 draft, an industry source tells us that the cutting of the rookie was not the result of a mistake.

Moses received a $610,000 signing bonus when he signed with the Raiders, and will keep that money as he heads to the Cardinals, who claimed him on waivers. For the Cardinals, it made their decision to dump third-rounder Buster Davis (who also received a $610,000 signing bonus) a wash

A rare case where PFT is not the source of an internet rumor or did they start the rumor?

I don't think PFT started it this time but it was the same type of rumor site. Some site called MVN.

I don't think PFT started it this time but it was the same type of rumor site. Some site called MVN.

Someone on a KFFL site message board apparently posted they'd heard it on KNBR radio 680 in the bay area, then someone on another board said they'd emailed KNBR to confirm it and were told they had NOT reported it.

Who knows, remember last year some doofus ticket broker trying to sell tix to the Bears/Cards game goes on a bunch of Bears sites making up quotes by Cards players "dissing" the Bears? his whole shtick was trying to get Bears fans to buy tix to go see the game, his made up quotes made it all the way to ESPN radio. They even had Dansby on radio and asked him about the quotes and he said they weren't real.

Who knows with the Raiders anything is possible but it seems unusual that not one bay area paper broke this story?

The only things that gives the story the least bit of credibility was the actual naming of the culprits in the gaffe. It wasn't a vague report, it was quite specific. Now, as to the veracity of the report, who knows?

After the fact, the Raiders aren't going to admit to making a mistake...they are logically going to spin it their way.

I think the Raiders did make a mistake in communications...Moses was still being talked about as a strong candidate to start. And, go and watch his play against the Cards...he was making a pretty solid case to start. This kid can rush it...yes, he's a bear hug type tackler, which is a bit odd, but he gets the pressure any team would want.

Yeah it wouldn't stun me if the rumors were true I guess I'm just surprised that it's not even listed on KNBR's site even though they're apparently the one cited as having broke the story?

Bay area is just like any other place, if the local media got wind of this story they'd be all over Al Davis for it.

I guess my thought is if they named the guy responsible and the Raiders don't fire him, it is probably not true?

I'm glad to have Moses with Chike out and Berry not looking good in preseason we can use a young pass rusher.

Why is seaschicken so upset? If the Hawks picked him up I'm sure he wouldn't care what the rumor was. I sense a bit of jealousy

Who's upset? If the 'Hawks had picked him up, I'd still say the rumor was stupid. The truth of the rumor has little to do with whether or not he can play.

As for being "jealous", remind me of what there is to be jealous of? We just traded for a former first round pick at DE who may or may not do anything. Why would I be jealous that we didn't get a guy that the Raiders threw on the scrap heap after his first camp? Seriously, I'd love for you to explain that one to me. All due respect but Seahawks fans don't often find themselves in the position of being "jealous" of the Cardinals.

About the only thing that the Cardinals have that I would ever be jealous of is their top two receivers. And last time I checked, wide receivers are pretty far from the current topic.

Well for not being jealous, you sure are obsessed with this topic.

A minute ago I was jealous, now I'm obsessed. Or maybe I'm just discussing it and you have no point. Yeah, maybe that's it.

Wow alittle testy. Jealous, obsessed and testy. You sure youi're not a Rams fan?

So Moses demanded Raiders let him go?

That's three posts in a row where you've added absolutely no value to the discussion. Good work.

You obviously can't take any kind of ribbing or banter.
And you've added so much by pretty much calling us on this thread 'stupid' ("Cmon you guys are smarter than that")for believing something like the Raiders could've screwed up and we made out on the deal. That was a back-handed insult and you know that is exactly how you meant it.
You come off like a jealous chic when you are trying to convince Card fans that the Raiders could in no way make a mistake and therefore we are not very smart if we actually believe that it happened. Again, why do you care so much? If the rumor is absolutly false and it didn't happen that way at all why does it bug you so bad that some Card fans may believe it?
Lighten up dude you're on a Cards board why would expect us not to be happy, no matter what the circumstance, at a signing that was made beause another team may or may not have made a mistake? You're not a Cards fans so don't expect to have everyone just agree with your insult

:lmao:

Tell me I'm pretty!!

Yeah that's it. I obviously can't take any ribbing or banter. Or maybe you're just not that funny. Maybe?

Again, you've managed to add nothing of value. I supposedly called you guys "stupid" by saying "you're smarter than that"? Which one of us sounds like the chick now? That's like telling your girlfriend she looks nice today and her first response being "so what are you saying about how I look every other day?!?!"

This is a dumb rumor and I said you guys were too smart to buy it. Ask anyone who's read my posts before. If I wanted to call you stupid, I would have said "You're stupid." Why wouldn't I? Are you gonna come to my house and beat me up or something? Maybe there's no need for you to read more into the post than what's there... you know... like a chick.

But my favorite thing about your post is how you invoke the power of "everyone". "Don't expect everyone to agree with your insult." You're the only one I see whining about my opinion or even calling it an insult for that matter. Who is this "everyone" you're referring to? Then there's the point of you repeatedly saying that I said it "couldn't have been a mistake". Whatever you do, don't read back over my posts because you might accidentally understand them this time and realize you're talking out of your arse. I've said over and over that while this kind of thing is "possible", the amount of attention it has gotten from credible news sources (which is absolutely zero) would suggest that it's a complete farse.

If you need to believe it, believe it. But just know that when I say "You're smarter than that", I'm no longer including you. That should be good news since you were the one (and so far the only one) who took it as an insult anyway. Have a wonderful rest of your day.
