I have a hunch that Eli will go #1 and Ben could slide. Maybe even past the Cardinals. Mea culpa: I don't trust hunches so I certainly do not put much stock into even myown. Still, I see Ben as being a Leftwhich type. Highly-regarded but falling.

I agree RR....that's why we should take him (Big Ben).

Knowing Al Davis' love of the vertical game, I could see him easily taking Fitzgerald (if he comes out) or Roy Williams.

If the Cards want Roethlisberger, the Raiders will likely oblige them, because I too hear they are targeting Fitzgerald. I don't see the Cards making that move and I think the Raiders unlikely to go down more unless they like Williams as much. I hear they don't.

So, unless someone overwhelms the Raiders with an offer, I suspect they stay put and take Fitzgerald. I have not ruled out the Cards moving up to the number one spot and taking Manning, though I hear the Chargers are unlikely to trade with the Cards.

Whether the Cards take Big Ben depends on whom the next coach is. Roethlisberger lacks the marquee value of a Manning, but could well develop into a fine QB. As for me, I think that the Cards have other pressing needs and should go elsewhere.

I'm truly on the fence on whether the Cards should take Ben if he is available at #3 or go with another of their many needs. Who do you think is worth the #3 pick if the Cards don't go for Ben. I'm assuming you would take Manning if he slid to the Cards.

The Raiders need a QB bad. It wouldn't surprise me if they traded up with SD to get Manning. If Roethlisberger is there when we draft I really can't see us going in any other direction. I'm sure Manning is tops on our list but I think he is going #1 and won't be there for us.

Never know what Al Davis is thinking. Hell, he will probably end up sueing the NFL if Fitzgerald isn't allowed in the draft.

Harry seems certain that the Cards shouldn't take Ben and I'm wondering who else in this draft is worthy of the #3 pick. Wilfork seems to be slipping as is Tommy Harris. No CB's are rated this high. Even the OT's (not a true need for the Cards anyway) aren't getting the rating of a Pace or Ogden. I can't see the Cards going WR and besides Fitz who is worthy of the #3 pick in a very deep WR crop. Sean Taylor is a possibility but he's a Safety and they never go at the #3 spot.

So if the Cards don't trade down and don't take Ben then who is worthy of the #3 pick?

Anyone looking for defensive help on the line are going to go after Tommie Harris of Oklahoma and he will go very quick. If we did not need a QB he would be high on my list and if we do not take a QB he might be #1 on my list.

At this point I do not know why Tommy Harris would slip. This guy with his rush from the inside makes the DE much better and helps the DB's. He is a force and I think will be an instant starter in the NFL. He is big, fast, tall, and smart and fearless. I think he has been a starter since he was a freshman. To me he is a guy that there is little risk with if you need a force as a down defensive lineman. If we do not get a QB I could live with this guy.
