I thought the Cards would make a run for Smith. He would have made a nice cover CB to pair with Patrick. Very disappointing.

Hayward would be a nice under the radar player in the mold of Powers. He won't flash you but he knows his responsibilities on the field. Should come very cheap too.

Prince Amukamara is also available and would be a high upside corner. He is in the mold of PP when it comes to size and athleticism. Would be a perfect fit for our scheme, especially since we have one side locked down with PP.

I feel if we fix our secondary now, we can focus on front seven in the draft, which remains our biggest weakness. Looking up the salaries paid for DL and OLB in free agency, good aggressive drafting is the only way to go for smart franchises.

At this point, with the ridiculous amounts of these contracts, I think the Cards are doing the right thing in waiting it out. As much as it pains me to see these guys get signed, when I see the contact amounts I say no way are they worth that.

Sean Smith is one of the most overrated cornerback in this league, and he expects tippity top dollar.

Yeah, he is tall, and that is great, but there is also a reason he has been allowed to walk from two teams.
