My post got buried in the game thread...

Just thought I would inform everyone, that he sprained his right ankle badly, but x-rays are negative.

An injury to one of our core players and our best perimeter defender is the last thing we need

yeah its only expected that since the suns play the rockets(the rockets curse) this week that a starter has a major injury. Watching the game, it occurred to me that this injury only happened because of the suns terrible effort in putting the sonics away. The suns gave the sonics hope and they played with more urgency closing out shooters. The suns should have been ahead by 25 at the half, but the turnovers were the sonics hope at a possible victory and a day in the limelight. At the head of the turnover parade was amare with a bundle of terrible passes, several ending in uncontested layups. I hope that this game/injury was not too costly. TMAC will be salivating knowing that the suns have no wing defenders that can even come close to guarding him or even making him work hard.

Hill and Giricek can both play fine defense on mcgrady if bell is out.He probably will have to work hard for his shots, and he will certainly think twice before driving the lane with shaq and amare there. The guy is certainly no Kobe. i'm not too worried about him. the rockets have sucked in their past 2 games and now have no answer for amare or shaq on either end of the floor.

It was sad to see Raja get Bruce Bowened by Kevin Durant. Durant didn't even seem to feel bad about it as he just took off down the court to try to score.

probably because, unlike bowen, he didn't do it on purpose.

unfortunately we don't know how fine he will or won't be. raja seems to recover very slowly from injury, and he has a hard time staying healthy. His shot was off early in the year, and just as it started to get back on (tonight), he was injured again.

GG has a thigh bruise, dont know if he's going to be able to stay with TMAC. We shall see, but I say Hill cant do it alone.

Thank you, Andrew. I did not have coverage of the game nor had I heard it elsewhere. As to someone later in this thread, it is a bad ankle sprain that has been reported. As such, do NOT remove this thread. It is about the report of a player's injury. That's about the best thing that can be posted in a forum like this. Why should it be removed?

Yeah it didn't at all seem intentional, and Durant did the right thing by trying to take advantage of the situation. It's unfortunate, but that's the way things go.

Here's the only thing that looks intentional about it.......Durant never tries to stop or get out of the way at all. Bowen keeps his upper body back from the player and sticks his leg forward, but Durant just kept running at Bell as he's coming down and then turns up court to try to get a fast break. Raja was nailing 3's and playing aggressive defense on Durant and then he gets taken out.......that's a convenient accident.

Yeah he didnt even try to avoid the situation at all, durant does this all the time on the close out. His day will come.

Doesn't look too bad from this report...

X-rays were negative and Suns' athletic trainer Aaron Nelson said Bell had a mild to moderate sprain, but how long Bell might be out won't be determined until Thursday.

Thanks for that, how much of an upgrade is it from "badly sprained" to "a mild to moderate sprain"?

I guess Barbosa is going to start. TMAC is gonna be a pain in the rear end.

Dont flatter yourself, he was talking to 95pro.

This isnt necessary. Discussing an injury of a player who had JUST started playing at 100% is the most newsworthy aspect of tonights game.

This is also a horrid flashback to earlier this year when:

Raja sprained his ankle.
Raja sat for a while.
Barbosa rocked it in the starting lineup.
Raja came back too early and played crappy.
Raja injured his back after playing on a weak ankle.
Raja's back nagged him for a very long time even though he played through it.
Raja getting back to his true form.
Raja sprains his ankle.

Did Giricek play tonight? I was listening to most of the 4th quarter on radio and didn't hear Giricek's name being called.
