The Los Angeles Rams don't need a quarterback in 2025, but they could still add one in this year's draft.
Matthew Stafford is 37, Jimmy Garoppolo is a career backup at this point and Stetson Bennett is a huge unknown. While Sean McVay hasn't done a lot of prep on the 2025 class, general manager Les Snead seems open to the idea of adding a young passer this year.
One player the Rams could target at is Alabama's Jalen Milroe. L.A. will reportedly meet with the Crimson Tide quarterback ahead of the draft, and another ex-GM already thinks the Milroe would fit well on the team. Bleacher Report's Alex Kay agreed with this idea and tabbed the Rams as the No. 1 fit for Milroe.
Taking Milroe with the No. 26 pick would be bold, especially if other more pressing needs are on board at that point in the first round. However, the Rams don't currently have a second-round pick after trading up for Braden Fiske in 2024, so they might be able to wait until either of their third-round picks at Nos. 90 and 101 for Milroe.
Plus, whether or not he's a good fit for the Rams doesn't automatically mean L.A. will take him at No. 26. If there are other players who can more quickly help the Rams win in 2025, it'd be shocking if the team went with a long-term option in Milroe instead.

The Rams are running it back again in 2025 with their aging signal-caller, but it likely won’t be long before Stafford regresses or retires," Kay wrote. "With no heir apparent in place, they could opt to secure their future by using the No. 26 overall pick on Milroe.
"Despite the clear differences from the pocket-bound and strong-armed Stafford, head coach Sean McVay should have little issue installing an offense tailored to Milroe’s strengths when he finally gets handed the keys. Parsons compared Milroe to 'Jalen Hurts with a jet pack and stronger arm.' That type of talent could shine in a McVay scheme."
