Carr lost the faith of the team, and he didn't have any in them. He needed a change of scenery. He has the talent to be good but it wasn't going to happen in Houston.

I agree, but I wouldn't say he was holding the franchise back. Hell, he was ON his back more than he was in the pocket. Just a bad situation all around.

He had a good outing in his first preseason game. 6-8 for 83 yards and a 24 yard TD toss.

The o-line isn't perfect, but it's not as bad as the stats they show. He held onto the ball way too long and didn't show he could read defenses. I hope that he does well in Carolina. I like stories of redemption.

That said, I'm glad he is no longer with the Texans and Schaub has a chance.

what's the wager again?

I'll take the Texans at 7 wins or under, you take 8 and higher. If I lose, I buy you a beer, if you lose, you buy me a large soda.

Sounds like a plan. Hopefully I'll be able to take in a game in Glendale one day so that we can make good on it.

I don't go to every game either. If not, we can work out something.

I suck at betting.

I don't like their choices at QB/RB...should have been Trent Green and Jamal Lewis with that defense.

But since I brought it up...I will do it.

Awesome, good luck to both of you, and the Texans, besides tomorrow of course.

Naturally. I don't really consider myself a fan of the Texans as such, but I do want to see them do well (in most circumstances), if that makes sense.

Neither am I.

However, if they would have drafted V. Young...I definitely would be rooting for them whenever they didn't play AZ.

OK, timeout here. Playoffs + Texans = are you kidding me? If they are a surprise team and get in, I think we can accuse Gambit of possessing the same sports almanac that Biff had in Back to the Future 2.

My favorite Texans moment was when Josh McCown had menstrual cramps and took himself out of the game after one play and we got drilled. that was the day I finally put the dagger in McCown's career here.

Guys, we've been over this before. Gray's Sports Almanac only went up to 2000, and the DeLorean has been destroyed. We're in uncharted territory here.

:D

Of course I'm no Oracle--just last season I put some money on a bet with a friend that the Cards were going 8 games or better too. This season? Double or nothing, but now we have to get a playoff berth.

So basically I bet that both the Texans and the Cards make the playoffs this year. If I win, I won't get to celebrate, because the world will have already ended.

Maybe you can get Donaghy a job with the NFL.

I'll gladly take that bet as well (friendly, of course). I'll take 7 or less wins. I'm in Northern Cali, though, so we would have to wager something that could be sent via mail. Ideas?

Under a new regime it's too early to know "who we are" let alone know who the Texans (flying under the radar) are.
