Avondale Red Rage
Just wondering...
I've noticed on Twitter that RJ has taken to praising our young guys. First it was Corbin a week or so ago, then today this: https://twitter.com/rj51photos/status/339495632031055875 I have to say I like it.

I betcha they're waiting for him to go into the HOF. And I'll betcha, too, that if he goes in as a D'back, it will happen then.Dbacks need to retire his number, like yesterday.

Of course, his number belongs up next to Gonzo's (and Jackie Robinson's) in Phoenix no matter which hat goes into the Hall of Fame.
I don't think it's up to the Diamondbacks at this point. I've heard that whenever he is ready to have it happen then it will happen.

Diamondbacks CEO Derrick Hall had been in regular contact with the five-time Cy Young Award winner since his retirement.
The club would like nothing more than to retire his number. Johnson sounded open to it.
"I've talked to Derrick about that," Johnson said. "When the time comes, yeah, absolutely. I've never not wanted to do it. I've just always thought the timing was more important to me.
"Like being here right now, it was the timing."
He intimated that he'd prefer to be elected to the Hall of Fame before having his number retired. He'll be eligible for induction in two years.
Did you go out drinking with him?I enjoyed watching Babe Ruth while I was growing up so he has to be my favorite. :>)
