MLB should be like the Olympics - strip awards from the cheaters.

Johnson deserved it in 2004 - he was by far and away the best NL pitcher, but the ass-kissing voters were so in love with the butt-injecting Clemens they gave it to him.

JOHNSON for 2004 Cy Young.

JOHNSON for 2004 Cy Young.

Two points. One, Johnson should have won it anyway.

Two, by your rationale, based on what I have heard, Roy Oswalt should be the 2004 NL Cy Young winner.

Don't fool yourself.

So might have any player. Clemens, we suspected. Any proof on Randy?
This is the problem with that report. It says that PED were widely used throughout baseball then it only list 80 some players. So were less then 10% using PHDs or is this an incomplete list. If you believe the report then just because a player was not named does not mean he didn’t juice. Most of these names came from 2 informants. If you were supplied by someone else there is a good chance your name would not be in this report.

If it was as wide spread as it indicates there is a better chance that you used a different supplier then that you didn’t use.

Firstly, it's PEDs instead of PHDs. Might confuse people by talking about athletes with doctorial degrees :D.

Also, this report is basically 3 peoples testimonies. If this many names come out with so little people testifying and the way conversations were related, this wasn't going on in back rooms with shamed people. This was, in fact, a culture. The only reason more names weren't released is that more people didn't talk, not that there aren't more names.
If someone like Matt Williams who was always a hard working, strait laced kinda player could get caught up in this, then anyone could. To make statements on who should have what marked or removed or awarded is just moral boasting and gloating in the drama IMO.

This thread sucks.

Exactamundo. Johnson, Schilling, Gonzo, they all were using performance enhancing agents. Barely scirting the rules then and most likely surpassing them. Along with most of the game.

I think the most obvious would be Gonzo. I'm not saying he did, but you don't just get 57 home runs if your normally a 27-33 home run guy. I'm sure there was a lot of stuff that wouldn't have been if there were no steroids. Nonetheless, Gonzo was still great for this community.
