Randy should win the Cy Young.

Not only does he have the best stats in baseball but he's doing it for the worst team of the year. How many guys would/could go out start after start and perform the way he has under these circumstances?

I tried 10 times to paste in a table using code, oh well.

I agree...but history doesn't seem to be on his side. Perhaps the folks that vote on this stuff will look past the wins/loss and into the other stuff....

btw: In 1987, Ryan had one of the most bizarre seasons in baseball history. He was by far the most dominant pitcher in the National League, leading the league in ERA (2.76) and strikeouts (270) at the age of 40. However, Ryan received horrendous offensive support all season, and finished with a record of 8-16. The poor record most likely cost him the Cy Young Award, an honor he contended for many times but never won.

Don't you have to win games to win the Cy Young?

No...but it certainly helps with the voters. I think it should be on overall performance.

If I remember right I think clemens caused a bit of controversy when he had like the worst era in the history of cy young winners. So I guess anything is possible.
