The Rangers are in talks with top prospect Gabe Perreault on a entry-level deal, according to numerous reports.
Perreault's sophomore season with Boston College came to an end on Sunday night with a loss to Denver in the NCAA Regional Finals, and according to Larry Brooks of the NY Post, he could join the team in the Big Apple as soon as Tuesday.
The 19-year-old has long been viewed as one of the biggest steals in the 2023 draft after he somehow fell to the Blueshirts at the 23rd overall pick.
He quickly rose through the ranks, establishing himself not only as the top prospect in the organization, but also one of the best playmaking wingers in all of college hockey as only a teenager.
Perreault has a bit of a quieter sophomore campaign, but he still finished second on the team with 48 points in 73 games.
He's also helped Team USA take home back-to-back gold medals at the World Juniors, producing six goals and 14 assists across 14 tournament games.
The youngster would be joining the Rangers at the perfect time as they've been struggling of late, but still find themselves tied for the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference with the Montreal Canadiens.
