The New York Rangers are clinging to their playoffs hopes with five games remaining and host the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.
New York has lost two straight games and is 3-6-1 in its last 10 games. The Rangers may need to run the table to have a shot at the postseason. New York is eight points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Philadelphia is playing in its fifth game since firing coach John Tortorella.
It won’t make much of a difference in a playoff race that the Blueshirts have all but officially been eliminated from, but here’s a hunch that they’ll keep their slim hopes alive with a win. There should be a little extra buzz surrounding the game as Sam Rosen wraps up his retirement tour by reuniting with longtime partner John Davidson for the TNT broadcast.
Place: Madison Square Garden, New York
Date: Wednesday, April 9
Time: 7:30 p.m.
The Flyers at Rangers game is on TNT. You can live stream the game on MAX.
