B

Looks like he has a lot of upside though he has a great arm and he is fast. Dosen't look so stupid out there anymore either.

He still looks like what he is a rookie but not a complete deer in the headlights anymore.

A real coaching staff could have a lot to work with there and we should still take Eli and then we would have that position solidified.

Not bad, needs practice. 3rd stringer at this point, his feet saved him. I gave him a C, he probably would have gotten a B is Boldin makes those catches...

Actually, I'm changing that to a B, his decision making isn't bad, I didn't hear of any stupid plays on his part. Can't tell how good his field vision is just yet though.

Can you see the game from "jolly ole England"?

If you had you'd possibly give him a better grade:D

Throws a pick for a TD and no TD's...But managed the offense and didn't crack under alot of pressure and ran well...overall I give him a C...

True... but he was hardly responsible for the pick...

He missed a couple guys, overthrew them when they were wide open. If he hits those passes, especially one with Boldin streaking down the middle of the field without a defender near him, we may win.

Overall, good for a guy in his first ever start.

Is he the answer? I don't know... need more time to evaluate him.

I would still take Manning or Rothsberngnagnananaa

i listened to it - and a C is not a bad mark !!!!!

just saying that if it was blake it would have been a bad game but for him its not !!

all i mean is dont get carried away with 170 odd yards - though you are right its not the same if you dont see the game - so i'll chage to an A !

Happy ?? - well done stud McC

I gave McCown a C grade. I think we are so used to seeing inept play at the QB position from Blake this season that McCown's performance today may have looked better than it really was.

McCown caught a break with Rucker not playing today. We will see how McCown does after teams see him on film to gameplan for him.

I want to see more of McCown. I wish McGinnis wouldn't have stuck with Blake so long when it was obvious early in the season that he royally sucked.

I really would rather see Preston Parsons. Too late in the season now for that.

I would still draft Eli or Ben if in the position to do so.

I was impressed with his arm and his feet. I thought he did good. I am now in the thinking that we have at least a quality #2 QB on the team. I feel good enough about McCown that I would release Blake if we were able to draft Manning.

I gave him a B

I think a C is harsh but in fairness that means average and so I wouldn't argue with it too much but in the context of his first game I think he did well. They tried to blitz him and he ran out of it not so much hitting his hot reads so in that sense yes he didn't prove much but here is what he did prove.

He can scramble better than about 28 other starting QB's

He has a stronger arm that all but about 5 other starting QB's

He dosen't wilt under pressure anymore which is common to most starting QB's.

I think he can play in the NFL and by all means still take Eli or whoever just don't give the job to the guy let them all compete for it.

C+

He really ran well out of the pocket today. Despite that 1st quarter INT, I thought he played ok. Nothing spectacular but I thought he had a spark in his step.

Conrad, I did like the elusiveness that McCown presented out there today. Very, shall we say, Jake like. I like that he wasn't hesitant to put his head down and run the ball.

I debated between a B and a C, but opted for a C grade because of the INT for a TD, only scoring 3 points in the second half, and not wanting to let a possible average performance be anything more than that due to having watched Blake play so poorly all season long.

I give him a B- on his first start and completed game. Started out not good, but settled down. He has a good arm, some speed, and runs well. He needs some fine tuning, especially ref throwing on the run. But, I'm glad to see that has the versitility to throw on the run. Not throwing into coverage was good - rather have nothing than an interception. Like what I saw. He will have a real test next week.
It's hard to say right now whether he's going to be the QB oif the future. But, I felt he did better than what I was expecting.
Nice game, until the last minute of play!!

The risks you take are all yours.

Play with fire and you get burned.

Never pee into the into the wind or on an electric fence, pull on the mask of the old lone ranger, tug on superman's cape, or mess with Tango.

The life you save could be your own.

I gave him a C. Not too bad, not too good. Just about where I thought he'd be. He got us a TD with a nice play, and cost us a TD with a garbage play.
He's got wheels, that's for sure. The draw was a solid play call. This guy's got naked bootleg for 10 yards and a first down written all over him.

I gave him a C because we lost. If we win, he would have gotten a B. Good first start against a solid pas rushing team. Even though some won't want it, the best thing that could probably happen is he plays better and better and lets Graves go in another direction in round 1.

I admit that I was chanting for the Cardinals to bring in Parsons or to draft Eli after that interception TD, but it seemed that McCown settled down afterwards.... He did spread the ball around effectively by getting Gilmore and Poole involved in the offense.....What I like about him is that he runs up the middle and tries to go for the extra yardage full-throttle, opposed to those QBs who get intimidated easily and immediately run out of bounds....

I voted him a C though because he seemed extremely tentative at times (which is expected for a QB making his 1st NFL start)...
He appeared to sometimes to hold onto the ball too long and not check out his 2nd, 3rd, etc options all too well....

Is he the QB of the future? No.....He would be better suited to be the Cardinals future 2nd stringer (playing behind the QB they draft in April and when Blake's contract expires).
