I’d like us to sign Anthony Barr & make him an OLB. I truly believe he could be a Chandler Jones type player if he is turned lose to sic em.

Mine:
1) Barr
2) Mosley or Jordan Hicks
3) Saffold to play LG

Draft at least 2 WRs, add another Olineman via draft & this team is soooo much better than last year.

I would be a little concerned about Barr, he has played in Mike Zimmer's 4-3...which is a very "unique" version that uses a lot of stunts and blitzs (they love the double A gap) to get overloads while they play a cover 1 or 2 shell on the back end.

I do not know how well he would fit with our scheme, the other concern is Zimmer (who looks perpetually cranky) constanlty complains about Barr freelancing and being out of position. If he came here as an OLB he would be a pure edge rusher or responsible for setting the edge if a stunt was called, I do not know if he edge rushing skills warrant the kind of money he will demand as a FA.

Love the other FAs though.

Hundleys career numbers are not good. We don't need 2 mediocre UCLA QBs. There are better backup qbs than that guy surely. Heck, I think Kanoff might be better. Give him a good look during the preseason games.

There are 7 or 8 guys that worship Rosen for some reason. I don't get it, when I watched him I thought he was an average quarterback. Maybe he'll improve. If not it'll be a long year.

Only Mosley played more snaps for the Raven last season than Suggs. Suggs will not be cheap but those citing leadership are correct. The Cards need someone to lead that unit. Other good performers there, but they’re not leaders.

Using that same logic...Davis Webb should be better than Aaron Rodgers.

And there is no way Tom Brady should be the best QB ever to come from Michigan.

Let's not kid ourselves.

Rosen is not the next Andrew Luck. His comp is more like Eli Manning. Eli is pretty good when protected (still throws some bonehead passes) but when not protected, he is miserable.

I don't think Rosen played well at all last year but I also have to factor in the OL, OC, WR, and HC.

Or Better then Jared Goff etc etc.... That is not how you evaluate a quarterback with potential in the NFL and you trying to claim it as such is complete ignorance.

Can you post how Murray does when taking a snap under center...or how he fares when he gets clocked a couple of times or how he handles exotic nfl blitz packages or how he reads nfl design defenses?

I dont know how Murray will react with exotic blitzes, he never played a snap yet among the pros
Im pretty confident his mobility is a plus against the speedy nfl rushers, in the famous game versus Bama he react pretty well considering the poor protection he got, cant imagine rosen could be able doing the same

Of course his speed will be an asset but defenses will be designed to contain him and get in his face. Every time he runs he will be exposed to big hits and there is no telling how he will be able to hold up from that. Look, it’s going to Murray or Rosen . Neither “camp” can proclaim guarantee success.

I like this post & it highlights our rose colored glasses when it comes to coronating Rosen as our future. So, if we don’t like Hundley, and most of us don’t, then how the hell can most of you prefer Rosen over Murray??????

Look at Aaron Rodgers numbers at college compared to other Cal QB's, plenty of players can put up better numbers in college and don't translate.

I'm definitely not calling rosen aaron rodgers, just an example to demonstrate the point

Davis Webb is 2nd in single season passing yards and passing touchdowns, compared to Rodgers 8th and 6th respectively

Then explain why Case Keenum isn't Tom Brady. Landry Jones, Ty Detmer, Graham Harrell, Kellen Moore? All of those guys are top 8 all time in yards and td.

Keenum is by far the best college QB in history (yards and Td's).

Interesting note...Baker Mayfield is also on both lists.

He will, we now have Tom Clements, he did wonders for Aaron Rodgers & Brett Favre in their careers. KK is a QB coach also. Murray is talented but that doesn't always mean it will translate to the NFL. Rosen has a yr under his belt already, it just doesn't make good sense to draft a QB in the 1st round two straight yrs. Hypothetically let's say they draft Murray & he bombs? With a much improved off line, then what? Looking for a QB once again. Yes, hypothetically he could set the league on fire also but it's highly unlikely because imo he's not a can't miss prospect. It's a gamble picking any player, especially a QB. The safest bet is to give Rosen all the tutelage he can handle from TC & KK, build around him through the draft, cuts & FA signings.
