Thankfully, there's a moderated sample test available at Wonderlic.com. (Of course, these are sample test questions and are intended for demonstration purposes only. And it's worth noting that the Wonderlic Personnel Test is published by Wonderlic, Inc.)

Take a stab at it below. Grab the stop watch, set it for 2 minutes and forty seconds, and break out a banana.

Ready?

And with that ... begin:

1. Assume the first 2 statements are true. Is the final one:

1. True
2. False
3. Not certain

The boy plays baseball. All baseball players wear hats. The boy wears a hat.

2. Paper sells for 21 cents per pad. What will 4 pads cost?

3. How many of the five pairs of items listed below are exact duplicates? Nieman, K.M. Neiman, K.M.
Thomas, G.K. Thomas, C.K.
Hoff, J.P. Hoff, J.P.
Pino, L.R. Pina, L.R.
Warner, T.S. Wanner, T.S.

4. PRESENT, RESENT — Do these words: 1. Have similar meanings
2. Have contradictory meanings
3. Mean neither the same nor opposite

5. A train travels 20 feet in 1/5 second. At this same speed, how many feet will it travel in three seconds?

6. When rope is selling at $.10 a foot, how many feet can you buy for sixty cents?

7. The ninth month of the year is: 1. October
2. January
3. June
4. September
5. May

8. Which number in the following group of numbers represents the smallest amount?

7
.8
31
.33
2

9. In printing an article of 48,000 words, a printer decides to use two sizes of type. Using the larger type, a printed page contains 1,800 words. Using smaller type, a page contains 2,400 words. The article is allotted 21 full pages in a magazine. How many pages must be in smaller type?

10. Three individuals form a partnership and agree to divide the profits equally. X invests $9,000, Y invests $7,000, Z invests $4,000. If the profits are $4,800, how much less does X receive than if the profits were divided in proportion to the amount invested?

11. Assume the first two statements are true. Is the final one: 1. True
2. False
3. Not certain

Tom greeted Beth. Beth greeted Dawn. Tom did not greet Dawn.

12. A boy is 17 years old and his sister is twice as old. When the boy is 23 years old, what will be the age of his sister?

Time's up.

How'd you do? Check the answers below, and multiply the amount you got right by 4.16.

1. True 2. 84 cents 3. 1 4. 3 5. 300 feet 6. 6 feet 7. September 8. .33 9. 17 10. $560 11. not certain 12. 40 years old

100%, without cheating.

Does that mean I'll finally get drafted after waiting for 16 years?

You have to be kidding me...beware of those who can not do this test...this is more likely a challenge designed to evaluate Raiders draft picks in it's origin! :)

I only missed #10. But in my defense I was also eating a burrito at the time of taking this test.

I work with the public, you'd be surprised how many people would fail a test like this...

160 seconds, and Ken, you say you did all 12 in that time (without a calculator, I assume) and had no trouble with 9 or 10?

I'm questioning your stopwatch.

No calculator, but I also didn't know it was timed...it took me around 5 mintues, but I wasn't trying to go fast either.

The biggest challenge is not the difficulty, but the time limit. You only have about 14 seconds to answer every question. (It's 12 minutes for 50 questions, right?)

The boy plays baseball. All baseball players wear hats. The boy wears a hat.

1. True
Actually the correct answer is Not certain!

Just because "the boy plays baseball" does not mean that he is a baseball player! Therefore making the outcome uncertain! :wink2:

I thought the same thing, and disagreed with the answer given. For those of you who forgot the time-limit of 2 minutes and forty seconds, your score wouldn't count. I would think this example they gave us would be fairly simple in nature, compared to what they have the players take. Speed and accuracy, I found the time-limit to be a major factor.

If you play baseball (the problem points out he does), then you are a baseball player. The answer is "true."
I am arguing that very point - with a tounge in cheek perspective.

I occasionally play golf. But I am fairly confident that after seeing me play golf you would not call me a golfer! :D

I know you are winking, but I wanted to make sure that you aren't debating this.

If A = B and B = C then A = C.

No, you have to take the first two statements as truth so the answer is correct. The fact is that he plays baseball so he IS a baseball player. The second sentence says "all baseball players"...

And your time is up, you won't be drafted in the first round either.

11 out of 12 in the time alloted. I do believe the answer to 10 is wrong. If X invested the highest amount, why would X receive less than anyone. Did I read the question incorrectly.

Yeah, I had to make certain of how they were asking the question too. They're saying since he invested more than everyone else, but only agreed to splitting the profits into 3 equal portions, how much money did he lose by not splitting the profits in proportion to the amount invested.

The real reason for Golf's name is much funnier, Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden. To bad most women I meet on the course are better than me.
